I reveal why the Val d'Orcia is my favourite region of Tuscany and visit the Ferruccio Lamborghini Winery in Umbria, which turns out to be amazing with a fantastic restaurant, packed wine-shop, Agri-tourismo B&B and golf course.

I love the farming insight into landscapes. Without which, a nice view is just that. But that brief insight into the lay of the soil turns layered views into depths of endeavour, gives meaning to the colours, textures, and shapes of the vista.

I'm sure,in a previous video, that you described Ferruccio Lamborghini as an entrepreneur. He was definitely all that, evidently always restless and looking for new opportunities. Tractors, cars, heating boilers, boats, an attempt at aircraft, wine and tourism. Quite a resume, and I've probably missed some stuff. Fantastic to learn of the Lamborghini history and also see that part of Italy. Thank you.

I should have visited the Lamborghini museum and other places that you just visited in the recent videos Harry, but the trip was cancelled unfortunately. That was in the mid nineties and I was unable to do this again later. Many thanks for showing us your trip in detail and I really appreciate kind of being there with you as a guide !

Harry’s garage, always an education, fabulous series of films, brilliant. Italy is such a lovely country, did a trip on my bucket list this year, Sorrento and Amalfi, crowded on occasion but the scenery really is to die for. Made our own pizzas’ on a farm in the hills behind Sorrento, view over the bay, glass or three of home grown wine. Memory of the year, epic. Just wish the vette had been with me..

That bath in Bagno Vignoni is where Tarkovsky shot the candlewalk scene in Nostalghia. I wanted to visit it for this reason, but now that I've seen the surroundings, I definitely have to see that part of Tuscany one day! It's not that far from me (about 1300 km), but petrol is punishingly expensive nowadays... although my 1.6 Lancer thankfully doesn't drink as much as a Countach :D

Turns out that one of the best ambassadors my country could possibly have is a Brit :) Great video, and I remember very well that issue of EVO with the big supercar test. We did an almost identical trip hardly 1 week earlier! I took my F82 M4 and it’s true to say that even in something with relatively firm suspension, as lovely as the topography of the roads is, they are extremely challenging surface-wise. I found almost no opportunity to stretch the car’s legs in that region. Of course a trip like this no matter what the car is about much more than finding the best driving roads, but nevertheless, great respect for doing that trip on those roads in your Countach.

I take my hat off to you driving a Countach on those roads. We drove round in a hire car in Tuscany in September, and I couldn't believe how bad their roads are. I guess in a Countach you won't have a Punto up your tailpipe within 30 seconds of taking off.
