This video just changed my life!!! I used to have two options, either a) 6 hours of air-drying where I try to not move too much and disrupt my curls or b) 1 hour of diffusing that resulted in frizzy and lackluster curls. I just dried my hair in 20 min! (Not quite 10 min, but who would expect that when it's almost freezing outside and 90% humidity?) And it looks AMAZING! Thank you so much for this fantastic video. You've just changed my hair from the bane of my existence to something I'm really excited about! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I don't know if the problem is in the diffuser that I use, but my hair always ends up looking frizzy. even though I try to start with the roots, use cool or low heat and keep the diffuser 3 inches away from my hair. still my air dry result looks and feels way better. it really sucks cuz sometimes I can't wait for 3 hours!
@insherahsaleem4 жыл бұрын
Same thing happens with me but now what i do is i air dry for like 1 or 2 hours depending on the weather conditions wait it to get almost 60-70% dry And then diffuse.. it works! There is less frizz i won't say i don't get frizz i get a little bit of frizz but that also gives quite a nice volume ... So give it a try

@@insherahsaleem yeah I heard people recommend letting the hair dry a little bit before diffusing, but I feel like what's the point of owning a diffuser if I can't use it right away when I don't have time to wait! thnx anyway :)
@maddiejagger35484 жыл бұрын
Sometime you dont use enough gel and/or mousse before you diffuser your hair wont make a cast and instead of your curl holding it will separate a little and cause frizz. If you are worried about to much of a cast/crunchy you can always scrunch your hair after you diffuse just make sure your hand are clean and dry when you scrunch because that can also cause frizz.
@insherahsaleem4 жыл бұрын
@@lomilosian i have dense hair even in Summers( i live in india here summers are sooo hot) my hair takes almost 4 hours to dry ... But that's only max 90% dry ... It's difficult to stay like that ... Also doesn't matter how much i put gel or i don't put gel diffusing without air drying takes 2hours and still my hair is not 100% dry ... It's exhausting and my hands hurts... So when i combine these two methods air drying and then diffusing it works and i still get that extra curly definition because of the diffuser

I'm definitely going to try this in the morning! Thank you 😊 Usually for a good hair day, I wash my hair the night before, add my hair products, use the Denman brush, let it dry and then go to bed and while I sleep, my hair gets volume and fluff out and then I add little touch ups the next day. If I do it the day of, then my hair would look too stringy like I would have the "fresh out of the shower look" all day (I have thin curly hair so it takes a long time for my hair to get volume which is why the sleeping in it helps using satin pillow case to fluff up without causing frizz)

Love, love love my Dyson hair drier. It's worth every penny. I've always had thick but fine, fragile hair. No matter what I did I had a fuzzy head from breakage. I would have to flatiron after blow drying and my hair never looked healthy. Almost immediately after I got my Dyson my hair started to dramatically look less fuzzy. Within a month I quit using a flat iron. I never would have believed a hair dryer would make such a difference. I'll be honest, I balked at the price, but my hubby talked me into it....... no regrets........sorry to sound like a commercial. Lol

@@RED-my9hl Absolutely. Plus I'm a natural redhead, with fine hair......thick but fine and I haven't always taken the best care of it. But my dyson hair drier has made a remarkable difference in my hair from the first time I used it. I was stunned. I thought all driers were basically the same. I'm not up on the science of why, and I don't usually comment on products, but I'm glad I got it. I haven't used a flat iron since, and my hair is substantially less frizzy. Lol.

Thanks for this video I had really been struggling with diffusing. I was doing it upside down and when I was drying one part of my hair the hair hanging down was getting caught in the back of my hair dryer each time. I have waist length hair so it's too easily done. Omg, I am jealous. I have medium to low porosity 2B/2C hair and it can take me a whole day to air dry it (sometimes it's not even fully dry). If I am diffusing it takes me 30minutes straight with having diffuser as close to my hair as possible lol I tried this method once and it took me around hour to have my hair about 70% dry :(
@demilove563 жыл бұрын
I have a similar problem, even worse than yours. It takes me 40 minutes (I usually quit at 15-20 min and air dry the rest wearing scarfs and towels to protect my neck) to complete diffuse dry my hair in the winter and around 15-20 minutes in summer. I always use the highest heat and air settings. I already do the hovering method that she showed as I feel it is faster than the cupping method and you also keep length. In another video (one trying Onision's suggestions) she needed oven 1 hour to diffuse with a regular hair dryer (GhD air I think). I think the key in her method is using a dyson. It's extremely expensive but it is fast. That's why it takes her only 10 minutes.

@demilove563 жыл бұрын
No, it's the safest method of drying hair. Most hair stylists suggest doing that. However, not all people can do this, due to time constrains, weather and even chronic conditions (I cannot air dry even in summer as wet hair trigger extreme muscle pain). Just make sure, you don't wash your hair every day as daily air drying may cause water fatigue (check Manes by Mell who show this in one of her videos) and do not sleep with wet hair as it is more fragile and may snap when you sleep.
