I'm a Georgia gardener and likely biased, but this is a priceless gift to us to see Dr. Armitage in his own garden! My mom introduced me to his book on perennials decades ago. Seeing him today conjures up lovely memories of early gardening talks with my mother. Also priceless to me! I will call her and tell her about this video! Thanks so much for sharing. Can't wait to see the backyard!

Oh Jim, how wonderful of YOU to introduce us to Dr. A. He is fantastic and so encouraging of just what most of us plant lovers wanna hear, “I just do it”. Like you he likely redoes his dirt so he does not mess with insects and other disasters. Thank you so much. Part 1 and 2 were great to watch. I watched them twice!

What a great video!! Love it! Dr. Armitage is so right about the Black Eyed Susan Vine. I grew one this year (from seed) and it just went EVERYwhere in my garden. It grew over a 5 ft teepee structure, thru shrubs, across flower beds and I was constantly amazed where I found those little flowers. I'm doing it again next year!!

I am always excited to watch your garden videos.... you are full of knowledge about plants..... I live in the desert California, from Chicago...... living in the desert is such a challenge for an avid gardener like me.... I like it when he said “ I killed more plants than you”... in the desert it is at trial and error on plants.. and I like it when he said “ putting plants on top of each other”... so funny and entertaining... I like Dr Allan’s attitude on plants.... so inspiring..... Just watch your video on planting bulbs... love it....

Video concept... I love to know more about the breeding and growing industry. Since you have so many friends in the industry and ways to connect to true experts... it would be awesome to have monthly zoom conferences on certain topics - rotating ur experts. You provide a general statement or question and u (because I consider you an expert as well) and your friends just casually talk about experience and knowledge. I would TOTALLY watch that!! Would be great for IGTV and fleet (on twitter) as well as youtube! Getting ur IG followers to suggest questions would be really fun. ...and if u can get them all in person, would be nice to see them bring a favorite gardening book or a plant they cant live without. .... 100% tuned in for that!

This was an excellent video Jim (if you shot it well done there as well)! Allan had a casual expertise that dripped out about a half dozen great tips per minute, made things sound simple. I'm still learning (a lot) and felt like I got quite a bit out of this, especially just about general placement and approach and the "thriller/filler/spiller" was fun. Was bummed when it ended. This was a real treat, look forward to the next video.
