I'm glad that you teach it both ways so that I can learn how to properly write and use the vocabulary while knowing what to look out for and how to use words in everyday spoken French.

It is very helpful, right! Otherwise, I know from experience teaching people don't hear what they were taught... because the pronunciation people are taught is formal pronunciation. That's how we read, different from how we speak.

Loving the content, can I ask if you have made a video about the use of pendant and depuis ? I have searched but have not found, if you have I'll keep looking!
@LanguageCity7 жыл бұрын
Merci Bacon :) I did make a pretty awesome lesson on pendant vs depuis: very detailed & accurate with examples. It is in the French III section of our course @ www.language-city.com. You can always sign up for one month ($19): That lesson alone is very much worth it, but I think every single lesson is very much worth it.

When you ask “is there something?” Do you omit it also?
@LanguageCity9 ай бұрын
Yes, and the word "quelque chose" is also greatly contracted! We mostly pronounce it "quek chose" :)
@aLaMode2987 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing the shortened pronunciation is also there with "il y avait", "il y a eu", " il y aura" etc.?
@LanguageCity7 жыл бұрын
Yes, you guessed right. The "il" disappears in all tenses. Not always, of course, some people will say it, but mostly, they won't.
