I have exactly the same. For about 3 years worked ok. Today measures 41cm smaller all the lengths.

The Amazon link is to a Tacklife laser distance meter; however, the one I recently ordered from Amazon was a different product, which I think was the 60-meter version of the one you got on eBay. (The 40-meter version would have sufficed for my needs, but the 60-meter version had a better coupon code, which made it even cheaper than the 40-meter version.) Looking forward to trying it out!

You said the device measured 7' then 6', but the actual measurement on the screen was 7 feet 0 and 1/16th inch, then 6 feet 0 and 5/16th inches. I realize this device is only accurate to 1/16th of an inch and that your concrete wall could have that much variation in it, but I'm less impressed that the second measurement was 5/16th of an inch more than the tape measurement.
