Saiyans were some of the most physically imposing lifeforms in the universe. Very few beings could match up with an Oozaru which is why freeza used them to begin with. The Ginyu force was composed of literally the strongest warriors from any race freeza could find, and there were only five of them. If other strong beings like them existed, you can bet freeza would have paid them a visit. Freeza ended up killing them all to prevent one from being "worth a damn". They were def one of the strongest races in the galaxy at least, and very obviously had crazy potential if they could hone their minds beyond wanton destruction.

@JVision1 When he was first introduced, he was so SMUG, like he was... a god or something- But now in Super, at least where I am, he's comparatively pathetic compared to everyone else. He never finished his training as a Supreme Kai thanks to Buu, and despite thousands/millions of years(varies by translation) being, in his potentially groomed mind, almost the MOST powerful of the universe, he was forced into meekness in only a few years, if that. He's still SUPER POWERFUL though! A literal god of creation! We just can't see any of his glory because we only ever see him around stronger individuals. I've been binging videos about him, and I still barely know what his abilities are. He's also connected to Beerus, and I've read that he didn't even know about Beerus??? His incomplete training is fascinating, and it's probably why people say he sucks at his job. He had thousands/millions of years to learn, but did he even know how? Or know what TO learn? Probably not. He's not pathetic on his own, but we never get to see that anymore. I want to know how much of his smugness is still there when he isn't around superiors or stronger beings! Not to mention his relationships with the Elder Kai and Kibito. I don't know much about his relationship with Kibito, but it seems Elder Kai has taken on the role of completing Shin's training, but he too SUCKS at his job! He assumes Shin knows things that Shin probably never had the chance to know, and sometimes gets mad at him for that! (Granted, when Zeno was there, it was a fairly understandable response. Not because Shin could have known, but because you don't want to insult the Omniking like that- ) I'm mostly just fascinated by him. (And I adore his character design.) I want there to be more of him away from the Z fighters, and I want his iconic smug smile to show up again!

Besides Buu, Dabura was the only one Supreme Kai was terrified of. But it doesn’t really make sense for him to have been nervous for the saiyans against Pui Pui and Yakon, especially Pui Pui; since he had just witnessed Gohan go SSJ2 and felt his power. It took tremendous effort for him to briefly paralyze Gohan so his energy would be stolen.

I understand if you're sick of talking about the Cell saga but I still have more questions about it. About the whole Android 16 detonation thing, Cell obviously didn't know that 16's bomb had been removed which means he was genuinely trying and failing to get out of 16's grip. How is that possible? Semi perfect cell blew a hole in 16' s head, but perfect cell can't get out of his grip? Did Bulma and Dr. brief make him that much stronger when they worked on him? As for the whole jumping Cell thing, I understand why that wouldn't have worked, but what if Goku had just kept fighting Cell and eating senzu beans? Cell may have been stronger than Goku, but they had like seven sensu beans. Was Cell really 7 times stronger than Goku, even at his maximum power? And Cell was perfectly okay with them using senzu beans. He explicitly told Goku to eat one and keep fighting. So it's not like he would have interfered with this process. And even if he had, Goku could have just teleported the sensu of beans to korin's Tower and then teleported there and eaten one every so often. As for this crap about the warriors code, they broke the warriors code when the all ganged up on Cell during the final beam struggle with Gohan. And it's not like Goku chastised them for that. So this warrior's code isn't like a religion they have to follow or something.

I agree except that it is a religion but the z wwarriors aren't bound by "The warriors code " Bushido is never explicitly mentioned in dragon ball as far as I remember. I mean bushi do (Taoist way of warrior) In the first place there's a difference between BuDo BuJutsu and BushiDo The z fighters all fit the profile of BuJutsuShi meaning they aren't under obligation to adhere steadfast to the principles of BuDo. Plus they're more or Chinese and Budo is a Japanese tradition

There arent much sensu beans , they are very rare in dragon ball after saiyan saga, it was chalked up to Yajirobe eating the whole jar in early dragon ball but mostly because it was annoying to get around them , I mean the sagas would look very different with a bag of 100 sensu beans you know? Also for Cells reason is that he was just surprised since he cant detect 16's power then came to his senses telling that a mere bomb wont even scratch him and blasts him

The thing about Supreme Kai is that he literally did not know any Saiyan could compete with the Universe's most dangerous beings. He was also worried that if anybody got hurt they would fuel Majin Buu's revival. I never thought he was scared of Pui Pui or even Yakon. Its just he was stressed out cause of Buu. He literally said in the manga or anime that each Kai was a thousand times more powerful than Frieza at his max. So idk why people think Supreme Kai is a weakling. Hes weak compared to Saiyans and some of the other mutants introduced later, but thats about it.

I've wondered the same about that and it's precedent with raditz. Back at the start of dbz, goku managed to hold a much stronger raditz while piccolo finished charging and aiming his special beam cannon. Raditz couldn't break the hold either. In fact, he couldn't fly or otherwise move an inch. Seems like the advantage provided by grappling techniques can overcome substantial strength differences. Not entirely unrealistic, you see small grapplers overtake much larger strikers in mma for example. That's my explanation until a better one is offered.

Not a correction but a particularity. Majins can't be sensed for the most part as we see with Goku needing to sense Yakon based off of the air currents as opposed to tracing his ki. I think when it's noted that they can't sense the Majins Goku says that he can't sense an "seiki" (written with the same kanji as "life" or "ki") from Spopovich. After Dabura fires a ki blast, the Saiyans get a feel for his power. Goten and Trunks can also sense Goku and Majin Vegeta fighting when they're outputting ki. In the anime, Android 18 can sense Vegeta's ki after he blasts the people in the audience. So it seems like the Majins can only have their "battle ki" (at term Daizenshuu 7 uses to describe the ki the Dragon Fist is made up of) when they're firing up/out their ki. Supreme Kai is likely just worried Pui Pui and Yakon or going to suddenly pull some trick that inflicts damage which is what they're trying to It should be noted Dabura's sensing the Z-Fighters while they're suppressing himself and is wrong about every power estimation he makes. Also where the English manga says supreme kai has been surpassed, the original dialogue just has him says "S-so that’s why these 3 have such composure...In a pinch, they can put forth tremendous power, like Son Goku displayed momentarily…Wh…what a completely unbelievable fact…that I, Kaioshin, should be thrown into a panic by humans of the lower world…" This isn't to say that he wasn't surpassed but that it wasn't as explicit as it was in the English. Just 2 chapters earlier Shin does rethink about how difficult it was to stop Gohan from moving after he went SSJ2 and this is after base Vegeta displayed power far surpassing what he saw from Gohan earlier. So it is interesting that he'd think that even Gohan would now surpass him when he didn't before unless he's just estimating for Gohan since if base Vegeta had surpassed Gohan who surpassed him at the tournament, surely he would've said so then, right?

It’s hard to tell just how much Supreme Kai and Kabito knew about the Z fighters, particularly the saiyans. They knew about super saiyan, and I assume they knew Goku defeated Freeza. So why does Supreme Kai think the saiyans would have trouble against Pui Pui? Also why do they think Gohan is the strongest? When Goku tells Supreme Kai about Cell he doesn’t say anything like “Oh yeah I saw that fight, that’s why I believed Gohan was still the strongest.” The writing seems inconsistent in this regard.

From the panels you've shown, I think it's heavily implied that Shin was stronger than SSJ2 Gohan. Only when Gokuu went SSJ2 did Shin have a revelation that he was surpassed by a Saiyajin, which is distinctly absent from his reaction to seeing SSJ2 Gohan at the tournament. Before when he saw Gohan's power at the tournament. In fact, only after Gokuu confidently tells Shin that Dabura isn't much of a threat, does Shin wonder to himself, in shock, what if Gohan's full power was still greater than the glimpse of a SSJ2 he saw at the tournament (which clearly is supposed to mean that SSJ2 Gohan was below Dabura in Shin's estimation). The hypothetical scenario of Gohan's power being above Dabura's is the first point in time where it's arguable that Shin felt thretened by Gohan's power. However, as we all know, in reality Gohan did not have further reserves and therefore not stronger than what Shin had first understood at the tournament. While it's unclear where Dabura and Shin fall relative to each other, what seems to be true is that: SSJ2 Gohan < Shin < SSJ2 Gokuu

If we factor in DBS he showed even more feats of power there, like being able to hold Dabura in place while on the verge of death no less. Also the fact he can create the strongest material in the universe out of thin air is probably useful. Do not forget about his incredible teleportation ability as well. Shin is very capable, he just isn't stronger than our protagonists and the main villain. Also, I may be in the minority here, but I really love Shin as a character too.

I always assumed he was afraid, not because of Pui Pui's threat level towards himself, but rather his threat towards the Z fighters. After all, any damage Pui Pui and the other henchmen did to the Z fighters would bring Majin Boo closer to be released. Of course he was seriously underestimating them, as even Dabura would be easily slaughtered by either Goku or Vegeta.

Agreed Supreme Kai was more afraid that Vegeta or Goku would take damage and help revive Majin Buu and he didn't realize the Sayiabs not just Gohan had tremendous power. Because as we see through a great deal of the Buu arc Supreme Kai is basically the Future Trunks of that arc someone with a ton of intel on the situation but isn't able to do a ton with that information. He knows Babadi gathers great fighters and makes them stronger but either do to the magic or he can't really sense power levels doesn't have a clue how strong the Fighters are as he keeps underestimating them and even the villains meaning Pui Pui and Yakon he treats as bigger threats then they actually are. Overall power level given Supreme Kai could defeat final form Frieza yes I think tossing him around higher numbered fighters from the Cell Saga is about right. As far as how well he does against Buu I'm guess he's playing with him notice how he handles Dabura, Gohan, and Vegeta they made him mad they Buu putting in effort, Supreme Kai didn't so he gets Buu playing around and I wouldn't put to much stock in SK surviving that big blast because we've seen others crippled like Goku in the Sayian arc do the same thing so that I put to another DBZ plot hole.

Seriously though, despite everything it was a little too easy to think Shin was "weak." Can beat pre-retcon Frieza with ease. Can restrain SS2 Gohan. Is implied to be more powerful than Cell if reading between the lines. Piccolo, who has never met him, immediately feels uneasy upon their first encounter. Seems easily surprised by everything before getting thrashed by Buu. But taken in context, it follows a formula. Mysterious guy shows up. Said to be a big deal. Proves himself to be a big deal. Turns out may be a diety. Then before the fall cometh the surprised pikachu face as his omnipotence is shown to be lacking and something that even he fears returns to the world.

When Babidi and Dabura witness Pui getting beat, they agree to push ahead and deploy Yakon. I've always wondered if they had some more goons of intermediate power between the two. Obviously even if they did, these guys would still get bodied, but in my head I always figured there was a Frieza or Android level fighter on that ship that we never got to meet.

Even at his lower levels, Frieza was a galaxy-ruling threat. Kai seemed unwilling to believe the Saiyans were at that level, despite having seen Gohan on display. As is covered in this very video, Shin wasn't scared of Pui per se. My only point is that I'd like to have met the warrior (s) in between Pui and Yakon. Might have been a good adversary for the Tiens and Piccolos of the world.

It kind of annoys me when Supreme Kai becomes nervous when seeing Dabura, Yakon and Pui Pui, i think even Piccolo would beat those guys (Not sure about Dabura) and Supreme Kai is said to be so powerful that he could actually beat Frieza with one strike, each supreme Kai is said to be that strong. I have always thought that the entire Babidi's spaceship arc is the part of the original manga that is the worst written. It presents the most inconsistencies and contradictions. For example: -The radical change in personality of the Kaioshin. I'm sure Toriyama initially intended to make him more powerful. -Babidi and Dabura think that the three Saiyans are more powerful than Piccolo, but then they are surprised that they can transform into SSJ. -Babidi thinks that with the three Saiyans, they will have enough energy to awaken Buu, but then it seems they don't know they can transform into Super Saiyans. Was he counting only on their base energies then? -All the confusion with Gohan's lightning in his aura.

Yes, it's a change of heart from the author, he clearly went another direction. But as viewers we must accept that direction. You have to understand some key concepts here. Base Saiyans > Piccolo and Base Saiyans > Shin, if you don't have those two the story won't make sense. There is no confusion with Gohan's aura, he's merely a Super Saiyan.

What would have happened if after everyone was transported from Planet Namek to Earth Gohan and Vegeta turned into Super Saiyan when they sensing the Planet Namek blowing up and thinking Goku died. How would that actually affect the timeline. Now there's two scenarios where Vegeta and Bulma do or do not get with each other and have trunks I would like you to do what you think would probably happen and if that does not have trunks being born then I would like you to do another one as well. And also let's say that Bulma still gave birth to trunks and yes Vegeta still the father. Because I would prefer trunks being alive and being the son of Bulma and Vegeta.

Of course Shin is stronger than Babidi's minions barring Dabara, if you look at the Goku Black arc in super Trunks doesn't even mention fighting anyone aside from Dabara. It's possible the others weren't mentioning but it's also entirely possible that Supreme Kai and Kaibito took Pui Pui, and Yakon off the board before including Future Trunks.
