This is undeniable: XTB Ultra Magnus is the superior toon accurate MP Ultra Magnus. Fanstoys UM can never be a toon Ultra Magnus because Ultra Magnus never had an inner robot. But since Fanstoys UM will have an inner robot I want them to release him in Diaclone colors.

My issue with MP Grimlock was never his size. I don't need the Dinobots to be huge. I just think MP Grimlock is flimsy or rickety feeling.

I think all the MP Megatrons have pros and cons, but my preference was always for Despotron as it reminded me most strongly of the classic Dreamwave comics Megatron. They always drew him really chunky and imposing.

I’m not really a fan of the super toon look so I’m hoping FT goes with the MP10 colors and Crome vs MP44. As far as Megs goes I went with Maketoys because of the color used. That being said MP36 has better proportions.

18:55 surprised you mentioned reximus (an OSKO) and not other KOs. [1] There was an OSKO of a mainline galvatron (CW?), but they replaced the gimmick headmaster head with the DX9, also made a more solid cannon, and was sold in baggies/no box (I guess for us plastic *_crack addicts._* ), was $40-$50 and I think was from the same people that did big spring. [2] Uhh, also, wasn't Springer the leader of the wreckers? Don't remember, and it's been years since I saw youtube vids that went over that comic storyline. Anyways, as you know, he's probably second or third to only optimus and/or Seekers/Starscream in terms of options at MP scale. [3] OSKO'd defensor team's leader I'm pretty sure was/is MP10 height, even if the gestalt isn't at the TW/Zeta level (but now more kits to up the height on those are coming out), and besides, this video was about the *_LEADERS_* and not necessarily their teams, right? [4] Juijiang silverbolt was comparable height, even if superion was in the 17"-18" scale instead of the TW/ZETA 22"(?) range. [5] weren't onslaught options, like MMC & the OSKO also comparable heights to MP10? It's just each of their combined gestalt modes that were small because they didn't partsform for additional height (but I wouldn't be surprised if those kits are coming to, like for...) [6] Scrapper options. So TW, OSKO'd options from JJ and others (of the GT version?) are MP height. [7] OSKO of MMC's razorclaw was a key component that got me into collecting TFs as an adult when I saw that it was the height of an MP seeker and that OS'd Feral Rex/Predaking was about the same height as CW/UW devastator.

I went Fans Toys with my Grimlock and have the whole team - I don't think it's too small, but opinions. For Rodimus, Takara. For Galvatron, I'm still undecided, though prefering Sovereign. But the current options are all a smidge too tall for my liking. And in regards of Megs, I went Apollyon.

For me this is how I'd rank them MS-02EX LIght of Peace (Optimus Prime) IT-01 Megatron HQ-01R Superator (Grimlock) FT-30A Maverick (Silverbolt) FT-31A Roadking (Motormaster) PS-14 Incursus (Onslaught) DX9 Carry (Rodimus Prime) MX-4 Abaddon (Galvatron) (Not out yet, but looks very promising)

That X-Transbot Motor Master is indeed a nice figure and I actually caught it on sale for $75, but I wonder about the leader class triple changers (Astro-Train & Blitz -Wing)

MP40 didn't get KO'd. I thought I was gettin' one from TF-Direct, but it turned out to be a legit Hasbro Asia release - Takara boxes with fugly Hasbro Asia info sticker on the box, and a spare collector card & spare instruction sheet that are completely in Chinese, in addition to the regular Japanese+English ones. I got a MP18 Bluestreak from eBay, same situation... seller thought it was a KO, but it wasn't. Another reason why a FansToys Optimus can be different from the Ultra Magnus inner robot: look at NewAge's "Octavian" (Magnus) & "David" (Optimus), there's a few differences there in how things work. Maybe FansToys took some notes from NewAge?

Nice video! I still got a few of these leaders to buy but I think I'm pretty well set on buying ZETA for Superion and Bruticus and GigaPower for my Dinobots. From there probably XTB for Menasor and Defensor but those two are going to take some time and stretch into next year to acquire all the needed pieces. Have MP-44 and 36 for Optimus and Megatron and not sure if I'll ever acquire a Galvatron or Rodinus. Maybe but IDK? I'm already running short of room and what little room is left is going to the 4 late season 2 Combiners. Least that's my plans over the next year or so.

I got of MP due to price & size! But I’m happy for everyone who loves these!! But the price on these got me out esp with this economy! It’s sad as there is some great MP figs!

Hey Mike, great video thanks. You have got me back into collecting the Masterpiece line. It feels like Takara has really slowed down with MP G1 bots. Do you think they will ever get round to finishing the whole cast or are they relying on other companies and you have to collect their models to finish it? eg no Jazz or Galvatrons yet?

The only leaders I was hoping to hear about was the Star Saber (Takara, Planet X, & IVR) and do u think XTB will actually make their Deathsaurus (probably didn't spell that right)? I feel like the MMC & Planet X versions are too short for MP along side the IVR or Takara Star Saber...thanks for the video as always...
