The cues are great! I like that you describe what you are doing "knee knee knee step step" then you count each move. It is very helpful to associate the counts with each move. Learning so much! Thanks!

I took a step class once. I was tripping all over myself. Did not go back. That was in the 90s. So glad I found your channel. I am loving this. Thank you.

Please keep doing these basic step videos! The L-Step is what gave me trouble. Some of the aerobic instructors would do them too fast and you couldn't keep up with them. You make it easier to understand so thank you! I love your videos!!

Awe yay! Thanks Heidi! Are there any other moves you would like to see in a tutorial? I am so glad you are enjoying these!!

@@CDornerFitness There is another step move that is giving me trouble. It's going from 2 single kicks into a turn smoothly. I keep landing on the wrong foot. I did get the L-Steps down perfectly thanks to your video!! Your an awesome fitness instructor! Thank you for all you do!!

I've been working out with my housemate for a few months and since cardio is my weak spot and I hate doing cardio among people, they suggested I try step aerobics. I picked up a step and tried to do a beginner class but they were all so hard. This series has really helped me break down the basics, and for a while I just did 3 moves to my own music and now I'm about to add these two. It's been more fun than I anticipated and very invigorating. I'm usually a fan dancer but I needed to rest my wrists for a little bit and step has taken over for fan practice while I heal, and I'm gonna keep step in my regular rotation. Thanks for making it so easy for me to learn!

OOOOH A fan dancer? I love that!!!! How cool! I am so happy you are learning from these videos and feeling more confident on the step. I am thinking of shooting another slower, but intermediate step class. Do you think that would be something you would enjoy? Thank you so much for such a lovely comment!

These videos are SO helpful! I took (but never taught) step classes pre-pandemic and loved them! I am a Zumba/Zumba Gold instructor. I have an opportunity to teach step now, but it has been years since my last class. Your videos are so helpful to getting me re-familiarized so I can begin building my choreography. Thank you!

YAY!! I love having instructors with me!!!! I would be more than happy to help you if you have any questions about teaching ❤️❤️
@joanntobey717 Жыл бұрын
@@CDornerFitness -thank you for the reply! I have SO many questions, but let me start with just one: if you were teaching a class just once a week, how often would you change the choreo and music? With Zumba Gold the movements are choreographed specifically to the music and I tend to hold onto songs/routines for about 3 weeks (changing some songs each week so it’s not exactly the same as the week prior) and then cycle them out. What about step? Because I will be teaching seniors, I won’t get TOO fancy with the footwork. Repetition helps them (all of us actually) to feel successful, but I don’t want to bore them with the same exact routine and music for too long. I so appreciate your advice!
