Le cascamos unas tucus is a great way for me to introduce a Bolivian to Filipino empanadas. Particularly the Ilocos Empanadas which look particularly orange for the outer shell. I highly recommend it. 👌🏽👌🏽

@@LearnSpanishWorld Yep I love Empanadas too and I want to try ones outside the Filipino sphere. I don't know of any where I live (which is Hawaii). Though just like Latin America, there are various kinds of Empanada made in the Philippines which is why I pointed out the Ilocos/Ilocano Empanada earlier. They vary from region to region.

I went to a private high school which was a girl’s school and we had foreign kids. When it came to the foreign Spanish speakers, we had girls from El Salvador, Guatemala, one girl from Panama, one girl from Mexico, three girls from Honduras and one from Chicago and she was Puerto Rican. I used to listen to their Spanish. And we had girls from Iran so when you weren’t hearing American English, the two sisters from London doing their British English, and Spanish you also heard Arabic from the Iranian girls. My best friend who was raised in Saudi Arabia was Pakistani and she could also speak Urdu(pardon any spelling error on that one). So you had a wide variety of languages all the time.

Wouldn't the Iranian girls have been speaking Persian (Farsi)? There is only a small Arabic-speaking population in Iran.

@@Ballykeith In the cafeteria the South Americans would congregate amongst themselves and spoke Spanish, the Iranians at lunch would be at their table. I assumed it was Arabic. I never asked what they spoke. I liked listening. My best friend who was Pakistani but raised in Saudi Arabia she knew Urdu but never heard her speak it. Those that came from their countries who spoke no English, by Thanksgiving they spoke better English than us native speakers. All the foreign girls were a lot nicer. In my cottage we had one Iranian, Niloofar, and I’d go to her room and she’d dance whatever dances Iranians do and she’d sing in her language. I’d hear Spanish from the Hondurans in my cottage who would talk to amongst themselves in Spanish which I didn’t know much at the time. Loved listening. One girl nicknamed me So So because after she taught me that and she would ask how I was I’d say it. She wrote it in my year book. I was astounded how beautiful the Iranian girls were.
