I never knew how to fill up a car until after my test and went with my father. I feel like this should be taught by the instructor mandatory. Even talking about the different fuels and how to tell how to spot them to make sure you're using the right ones.

Sometimes he says something, which make me go: "Ahh I did not think of that, that's a good point" But I feel pretty confident as a driver, and the way I have been taught. Finally passed today with 5 minor faults. Really looking forward to the freedom and mobility now. Was really nervous in the lead up to my test, but these videos massively helped to embed some of the understandings and principles around driving and some of the more awkward situations you might encounter. A combination of driving lessons with my instructor and playing these videos back in between lessons and driving without instructor was a great way to learn how to drive over the past year. Big thanks for all the advice and videos you do and have recommended your channel to others. Best of luck to all learning to drive and keep safe out there.

Passed my test on Monday! One thing I did to keep myself from getting nervous, is to keep repeating messages in my head. "Don't rush! Go only when it is safe." "Don't stare at the car in front, look at your surroundings and try to focus past the car in front." "If you make a mistake, don't ponder too much on it and focus on the present, as it can't be changed." Another tip from my experience: The examiner I had was chatty, try to strike a conversation with them and talk about something unrelated to driving, if you're too nervous. It helped calm me down. (Only do this, if you're not in any situation) Hope this helps! Good luck with your test Brandon!

I have bought the ultimate driving course last month and it's been really useful so far, in combination with watching mock tests and stuff. But could you add more "practical" videos? Like going through a drive thru, getting fuel, changing a wheel, securing your car incase of accident/breakdown, the monthly/quarterly checking we should be doing with our cars, things like that. Like I want to pass my test, obviously, but I also want to be a safe and confident driver and I do feel like these would be useful. Also, I would like some captions on the videos and/or transcripts of them, please. I think it would make the course more accessible. Thanks

my driving instructor was doing something similar.... here in Romania we have 15 included driving lessons and the last 3 of them my instructor dedicated this time to teach me basic car maintenance (how to check oil, how to check tire pressure stuff like that), we went to a gas station and taught me how to fuel up and in the last lesson we went out of the city so I can understand a little bit how the car handles at greater speed (in the city I was never allowed to exceed 40 kmh top speed). So yeah....trust me, these little things strenghten your confidence when you have your driving test and will make you a better driver. Because a car is not just a "thing" in which you climb in and run it around the city, a car is a family member and if you take good care of it she will return the favor and keep you safe on the road. I have seen a lot of drivers which never change tires on their cars or make an oil change and drive until the engine practically seize up! That"s horrific for the poor car :( I don't know how others are, but for me the car is super important and I do my best to keep it clean and in perfect mechanical condition.

I had my second lesson yesterday. So 4 hours in all. My instructor said he can't believe I'm only on my 2nd lesson. I did round abouts, reverse park, junctions. I told him binge watching these in lockdown and while waiting for my provisional to come back had helped massively.

Amazing progress. I haven't been in driving lessons yet. But I have practiced with my father (I am from Spain, so that it's ilegal here). I'm going to a driving school when I turn 18. But in my 2nd lesson with my father I was in a parking :) Now I have also done all the stuff you did. I have also reach 80km/h.

I did drove through a drive thru after getting my driver’s license. The town that I lived in doesn’t have any drive thru restaurants. I have to drive just a little bit over 40 minutes to the nearest one.

I Passed my driving test first time last week with 2 examiners in the car with me. My advice for anyone don’t be nervous and I know it ain’t easy not to be. But just chill and drive. Keep looking in your mirrors is a big tip. If your a good driver you’ll pass it. So make sure your ready to go for it when you do. And my manoeuvre was drive into a bay & I was fu*king it up but I knowed I was doing wrong so I reversed out and drived back in I never panicked. There’s a lot of anxiety & stress about it. But just be calm. My sister failed 6 times over stress and nervous.

I haven't used a drive-thru since maybe 2005. I'm one of those weirdos who prefers to park up and walk in, gives you more time to think about what you want rather than feeling hassled in a queue of cars. But I live within 3 miles of various drive-thru places and I'm going to force myself one day. I will. I've also totally forgotten how to reverse bay park because I simply don't do it. They let people like me hold driving licences, we are doomed.

On my test I had to do a parallel park down the beach on a bank holiday Monday I was waiting for a chance to do the manoeuvre for around 5 mins. Most stressful time of my life

Driving instructors that talk too much is just, brrrrrr! When I make a mistake I 90% of the time acknowledge and verbally say what I've done wrong as it's happening or directly after. (I learn through practical experience.) So again I say what I've done wrong, I understand, the instructor agrees and adds some hypothetical situations maybe and it's all good. But when he asks me to pull up for a talk I do not understand. 25 minutes of talking about what we already have mutually understood is entirely redundant and a collosal waste of my time. £15 waste of time to be precise. I don't understand. Not everyone learns the same, some are more academic, some are more practical. My best lessons are the ones we talk least. My worst are the ones we talk for 1 of the 2 hours. Complete waste. If you get the same don't be passive like I was, say what works for you and if they get on board with it, great! If not then change it up. I believe many people learn from actually doing, not talking..you learn to drive by driving, not talking about driving.
