Great video. I traveled a lot internationally for work for a few years and had a few 2-3 week stays in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I was living in Minneapolis at the time but absolutely loved Brazil, the people and had such a great time - life-changing kind of experience. I think the culture is similar in a lot of ways but maybe a bit more fast-paced in terms of the economy. One night towards the end of my last stint there, I was sitting at a restaurant with friends, and I took a minute to look around and take in the surroundings. I noticed that about 80% of people dining were smiling, laughing and talking with friends and just plain happy! People were so nice, friendly, non-judgmental, not entitled, caring and just fun. One example, they often choose to live in smaller, cheaper conditions so that they can spend more of their resources traveling, socializing and just experiencing life. I went back home (Feb in MN), looked around while out at a restaurant the same as I had a few days before in Brazil, and for the first time saw many of the things discussed in this video. People were angry, negative, isolated, agitated, demanding, disrespectful, and often arrogant and entitled. It was so apparent that I was disappointed in my country or people a little bit at that moment. I decided then that I will find a way to live part of my (one short) life in a place like one of these. I really wish I had this perspective earlier in life. I was in my mid-30s and now 40 and almost to the point where I can make this happen. Oh, and I'll be in Ambergris Caye in about 36 hours and get to check out my plot of land/investment property that I just closed on about two weeks ago. Thanks for the videos Will!

That's a great video. You explained it perfectly. Belize is an amazing nation that doesn't need a bunch of people trying to change it.

Outstanding video! When we first bought our first condo we came because there was no WiFi and limited cell/internet access and we were able to decompress. The primary reason we purchased was the people. They are so happy and nice. Second was the food! Again great video!

I'm considering buying a 2nd home in the mountains in Panama, but I want to visit a few more places before I decide. In Panama, I like the weather, the mountains stay cool, the coasts are too humid and hot. I've been researching the medical care prices as well, Panama is very reasonable. How does Belize compare to the US for doctors and dentists?

It's impossible to disagree with the Pros or Cons presented by Will. Plain and simple. For many of us the infrastructure, medical services and climate year round are the main concerns anywhere, including Belize. Here's a good question: how does living down there in Ambergers Caye compare with Barbados??

@@WillMitchellBelize But you said "pay the fee" & get a 30-day tourist stamp...so it's $100/USD EVERY 30 days For 1 Mth...THATS $1,200 every 12 mths PLUS the cost of leaving for 12 days or so.

The biggest problem for Americans and Canadians wanting to relocate abroad is that the countries where they would want to go are going to hell in a handbasket or have too many problems themselves. But those who want to be expats are so desperate and emotional that they can't evaluate the reality. Especially those of the age of retirement on small pensions and in need of easily available medical services. And how do we evaluate the way the US and Canada are going down the drain while paying attention to the huge problems of being in Europe facing war between NATO and Russia, Mexico being taken over by the drug cartels, Central America facing migrants and drought, Ecuador facing severe problems, Asia having to deal with extreme heat and humidity. Let's all be realistic and figure out what the best choice is.

Only 250.00 US to get another 30 day stamp? 🤣🤣🤣 Wow, has that ever gone up. What's that, about 150% increase? Governments, who needs them.
