Lechon Belly Roll Recipe (ala Lechon Cebu)
This is how I make my oven-baked crispy lechon.
Details: panlasangpinoy...
Ingredients:
5 lbs. pork belly whole slab
6 tablespoons Knorr SavorRich Pork Seasoning
1/2 cup soy sauce
1 piece onion
3 heads garlic
2 bunches scallions
3 stalks lemongrass
1/2 cup cooking oil
Spicy Vinegar Dip:
1 cup white vinegar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 piece red onion chopped
6 cloves garlic crushed and chopped
½ teaspoon white sugar
1 tablespoon whole peppercorn
6 pieces Thai chili chopped
Instructions:
Rub 5 tablespoons Knorr SavorRich on the meat part of the pork. Spread evenly. Turn the pork over and rub the remaining SavorRich and soy sauce on the skin of the pork. Let it marinate for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350F.
Chop the scallion, onion, and garlic. Crush the lemon grass and slice into pieces. Place all the garlic and onion over the belly. Add scallion and lemongrass. Roll the belly and secure by tying kitchen twine.
Rub oil all over the belly roll. Pour 4 cups of water in a roasting pan and put remaining scallions and lemongrass. Arrange a roasting rack over the pan and place the rolled belly on the rack. Roast for 1 hour.
Prepare the basting sauce by combining 2 tablespoons soy sauce and ¼ cup oil. Mix well. Brush all over the pork.
Increase the heat to 360F. Continue to roast for another hour. Note: add more water on the pan if needed.
Increase the heat to 370F. Brush with basting sauce. Roast for 1 hour more.
Increase heat to 400F. Continue to roast until the skin gets very crispy. Remove from the oven and let the pork belly cool down.
Make the dipping sauce by combining all the sauce ingredients as listed above. Microwave for 30 seconds.
Remove the twine from the belly roll and chop into serving pieces. Serve with spicy vinegar dip.

3-4hrs cooking time. Open it every hr and apply the soy sauce if you want to achieve the dark color. 😁 but in his case, its done in 3h and 30mins bcoz the skin is already crispy.

sobra po yon pagkakaroll nyo, dapat from end to end lang yon skin, hindi dapat nag ooverlap yon skin para sure na mag crunchy lahat, pag nag overlap kasi di maging crispy yon nasa loob na skin...i know it kasi nagawa din ako ng lechon para sa mga costumers...but anyway looks delicious na yon part na naging crunchy.

Hi.. Watcjing from Cebu City. Looks good but allow me to suggest the following: 1) Use COKE instead of Toyo to rub on the pork skin. 2) Add bell poppers to your ingredients, Try it next time, you will notice the difference: mas malasa, mas masarap, mad malutong hindi madaling makunat. HAPPY. COOKING!!!

Super like the recipe sir. Pero suggest lang po better kung na poke yung karne para pumasok sa loob yung seasonings. And mas madali kung ma mashed muna yung lemon grass before cutting. But over all it’s good . Just a suggestion.

Hi boss Vanjo. Follow up ko lang sana yung tanong ko kung ano ba ang tamang type of cook na iselect sa oven. Sinubukan ko ang bake hindi naluto ang ang balat. Sinubukan ko ang broil hi and low lang ang option at ang hi ay 500F at low naman ay 400F. Naluto ang itaas pero ang side na balat ay di malutong. Your kind response is highly appreciated.

In your other video of pork belly lechon, you did not put soy sauce and oil on the skin, what is the difference ? Here, you did not wrap the meat using aluminum foil and steam it at 400 then increase to 475 , you did this procedure in your other venue. Which video is better? Tks!

I've tried this recepi. Ni rub ko sya ng chili flakes, daming garlic. and yes, perfect with knorr seasoning Mas malasa sya, ang shereppppp. Thank you lab, hahahaha my favorite chef

Hi mag advice lang po... Napansin ko po kasi wala po kayo ginamit na Black pepper... Mas magiging masarap po ang lechon kung merong paminta... Salamat po...

May KATUWAAN na ako sa pasko. Sana may mabibili dito na belly pork. SA amin kasi suwertehan ang makabili ng karneng baboy na may balat.

I tried this style but I'm not satisfied with the crispiness, not a good idea to put water it takes 6 hours to wait until the skin to be crispy😢😢😢😢
