A tip for the quad sweep I got from PsychoFitness after I commented on one of his videos, is that the best way to train the vastus lateralis is to put focus on pushing with the outside of your foot during any exercise, and combine this with a close feet stance. The best exercises to apply this on are hack squats and the leg press. If you think about it, it makes sense - you flex your outer quad by "grabbing" the ground with the outside of your foot. After I started applying that, my quads blew up in a matter of months and are now actually one of my stronger body parts, especially considering I'm a tall guy myself at 6 feet, while they were my weakest body part before.

Wesley I have seen John Meadows teach his clients/Olympia contenders Shawn Clarida & Josh Wade to rotate their shoulders externally & put shoulder blades back to bring out back details. IFBB Head Judge Steve Weinberg also preach this in many of posing tips videos.

Not quite simply “pulling them back”. More-so a balance to show detail AND width
@probitionate5 жыл бұрын
The main message I'd relay to Wesley is to take the lead from Arnold: from the start, present your height in an appropriate way, showcasing your physique to its optimum. Example? images.app.goo.gl/6S6rTMu8vcbti17GA Note how Arnold stands tall, instead of the way so many bodybuilders do these days...and yet not so high that you accentuate your 'linear' shape, he somehow magnifies how 'regal' he is, as if he's looking down on everyone. (Which he was.). People say 'Don't try to be Arnold!', to which I reply 'You could do far worse.' (Which I would propose has been the case thus far.)
@denzelcrocker9925 жыл бұрын
@@probitionate the best part is that in that photo Arnold wasn't even hitting a "proper" vacuum. He was just trying to make his stomach as flat as possible (without pulling it in like Chris Bumstead does for example). And in my opinion, that looks even better than a vacuum
@probitionate5 жыл бұрын
@@denzelcrocker992 'The Vacuum' was 'owned' by Zane. The 'overhead vacuum', by Sergio. If nothing else (!!!) Arnold had tremendous instincts. (Aided and abetted by Joe Weider, let's be honest. No matter how you feel about the monopoly the Weider brothers had on the sport at the time, Joe was an artist.) If people could get past Arnold's legendary iconic status, they could learn _so_ much simply by really... paying...attention. (One thing you will find he _never_ did was pose in the ridiculously wide splayed-foot way that a seemingly endless group of currently competing guys do. Ugly, ugly...fucquing ugly.)

Breon Ansley tells in training videos to do high as well as low reps in leg workout to bring out the quality & deep cuts in the muscle. What do you think Wesley? Research also supports this, as legs have 50-50% of slow & fast twitch muscle fibres.

@@Cruzinator4500 someone who is squatting with more time under tension slower and contracting their quads the most. if your logic was correct then powerlifters should all be mr Olympia

@@Death2AllGaming thats false. Time under tension with very little weight will not give you big quads. Getting stronger on squats will. And powerlifters have very impressive quad development. Look at the 83kg competitors like Russwole and Jamarr Royster. They have huge quads.

@@Death2AllGaming also I assume you haven't increased your squat in order to accurately assess my question since you assumed I was referencing powerlifting. Big bodybuilders are strong bodybuilders. Increase your weight for a set of 10 on squats by 50-60 lbs and see how big your legs get.

The first two weeks it's very difficult to go for a long toilet, but after that you can sit on your heels with your feet flat on the ground. And then you can do the exercise like our asian friends do.
