Unfortunately the judges want something else for classic physique Olympia. Seems they want a mix of open physique and something else nobody even knows, massive legs I guess. It turned to shit now and I honestly don't expect him to be top 5. Even Arnold hates the way Olympia went, it's crap.

@donutpress11915 жыл бұрын
Keep training like that and he'll have a herniated disc or serious back issues. He needs to fix the excessive anterior pelvic tilt at the bottom of his squat and take the belt off. If he can't use the weightlifting belt properly to create intra-abdominal pressure then he needs to just take it off. Most IFBB pros use weightlifting belts as fashion accessories anyways so I guess I shouldn't be but so surprised. Wesley has some serious potential, but needs to do some research on his own and take more responsibility for his career. Dropping the hack squats and belt squats for barbell squats without a belt would be a step in the right direction.

Wesley, consider the "quality" of your recovery when going past failure. You do not need to go past failure every workout. What "supplements" are you using to aid in this ? Are you rotating them out every few weeks ? Blood work on point ? Is your nutrition on point ? Is your training frequency too often ? Are you getting enough rest and sleep ? Your quite young and these variables can be tweaked to discover what works best for you as an individual.

Heres the solution: Learn and perfect the form for Squats, Deadlifts, Overhead Press, Pull-Ups and Bench Press, from here you complete the exercises on separate days and progressively increase the weight. After some time with increasing the weight, you start changing the sets and reps. This will help you ;)
@markmark56795 жыл бұрын
DavidVG I did follow the David Laid program that included all coumpund movement like deadlift etc.. I got stronger at those exercises.. Besides, i am around 68kg and 174cm.. I deadlifted 160kg, becnhed 90kg, squated 110kg and OHP press 70kg.. I did all that with one rep those are my max.. I am still 68kg, maybe lower and i didnt see a resaults, exept strenght ofc.. But i didnt want to gain just streinght, i tought if i gain stranght, i ll get the muscle, but hard to say if i gained any.. i mean i look proportional and sometimes when i have a pump i look like amateur classic physice (no joke)... Now i dont do that anymore, (one rep max etc) i started doing exercises with 3 or more sets for each muscle group with minimum of 8reps.. Cuz i want a hipotrophy and muscle growth... What on earth did i just said lol
@golovinpropertyservices5 жыл бұрын
@@markmark5679 Well strength training generally focuses on progressive overload and 1 rep maxes. What I would suggest for you is to start doing more reps with less weight and focus on achieving the "pump" and mind to muscle connection, as Wesley always mentions. You can only gain a small amount of size with strength training because the work your body does is sort of "fixed". Instead of doing a "6,4,1" rep scheme try a 3x10. There's a lot of gains people leave out with keeping their rep schemes the same. Then that's just for the main compound lifts if you're doing isolation work you can definitely increase the reps to whatever you want.
@markmark56795 жыл бұрын
DavidVG Thanks pal, this is exacly why i am on this channel.. 🤝
@golovinpropertyservices5 жыл бұрын
@@markmark5679 No problem man. I would recommend doing your main compound lift for a rep scheme of about 3x10 and focus on increasing the weight every week by anywhere from 5-10pounds. Then do about 2-3 isolation exercises to help isolate the muscles that were worked during the compound exercise and you're good!

After watching your hack squat pattern several times over I think in your best interest to learn how to brace your core properly to help avoid some of the anterior pelvic tilt in bottom of your squat pattern. It is extremely noticeable in the hack squats you were performing and can be dangerous. You should never need a belt in the higher rep ranges your working in and your not using the belt properly to help aid in intra-abdominal pressure which is the point of having it on. If you want to grow your legs, your best bet would be barbell squats. However, if you can not brace your core properly, then you should not perform them because the risk is too high. Even hack squats should be stopped until you can work on fixing this issue. Going as deep as possible to increase range of motion for the sake of getting a better stretch reflex with the legs is not okay if it causes a breakdown in technique. Go back and watch some of Tom Platz squat technique and compare it to you own. You'll see he has very little if any anterior pelvic tilt and as far as bodybuilders go was probably the best at barbell squatting. Hence why his legs were so enormous. If you can squat 525 lbs 23 times of course your legs will be big.
@jeweetzelfx35 жыл бұрын
So correct! he's saying you can't tax your hamstrings/glute/upper back enough with deadlifts/squats without pain in your lower back. Bracing the core and activating the glutes should result in 0 lower back pain.
@ismaelfernandez86665 жыл бұрын
No true, have you seen Larry wheels. His legs aren’t that big. Of course they’re big but not the way you’re explaining, if that were so he’d have bigger legs than kai Greene, etc.
@donutpress11915 жыл бұрын
@@ismaelfernandez8666 First off Larry wheels squats exclusively in an extremely low rep range. Using such a low rep range does not induce hypertrophy as optimally as higher ranges. If he squatted in a higher rep range he may in fact induce more hypertrophy and achieve more muscle mass in his legs. However, this is really besides the point. Larry's legs are almost 100 % guaranteed holding more muscle than Vintage Genetic's legs. The reason Larry's legs don't appear bigger has more to do with the muscle bellies. He lacks quad sweep and the shape makes them appear smaller. This is a concept most people don't understand. It is impossible to drastically alter the shape of your muscle without sight enhancement oil.
