Gloss nailpolish huh? Have to try that!

To anyone wanting to use oil paints, they are very hard on brushes. So if there's one you particular like when using acrylics, i wouldn't use it to deal with the oils FYI.

Great vid! Did you use the drybrushing on the leather because it gives it almost a sort of texture? I really loved the effect. I'm going to try it but with a darker brown.

I wish they sold a STL files for their models, It be nice to print my own and save and manufacturing and shipping cost.

Is there a reason you use gloss nail polish over gloss varnish? Maybe I missed it.
@LesterBursleyMiniatures9 жыл бұрын
+Joseph Lynn The nail polish is designed to go on and level out in the least amount of coats possible on nails. I find this is also true for models. It's also quick drying which makes multiple coats fast work. And it's super strong at protecting the model. It also smooths out the surface better than water based stuff which makes the shine even better.

+LesterBursleyMiniatures Are you diluting it somehow or going straight out of bottle? And how you cleaning brushes after? Water or something different? Great video as always.
@LesterBursleyMiniatures9 жыл бұрын
+noname65PL I use it straight from the bottle as shown in the video. And you clean it with nail polish remover or Laquer thinner.

Great video as we've all come to expect from you! Quick question: did you seal or varnish before you applied the oil paint?
@LesterBursleyMiniatures9 жыл бұрын
+theplaidcolonial Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. No, I didn't varnish it before the oil wash.

Really great paint job and some good ideas for painting certain parts :)But are you not scared to destroy your good quality brushes with oil-base paints and nail polish?
@Whichendup9 жыл бұрын
Hey man, thanks for the video. This is awesome. I just picked up some Malifaux and the wood, leather, and metal examples will really help. One minor criticism though, your spinning display at the end with the black background really takes away from the model's colors. I thought the model looked way better when you were just holding it than in the final display.

Bit of an old video here, Les, but can I ask with the oil shading you do towards the end - is the oil paint pure when you brush it on feather it out or do you thin it first?
@TheHipkin8 жыл бұрын
