From fixing the fans on the car so it doesn't overheat, proving yet again that he deserves the title of Master Technician, to installing power steering and a working AC - absolutely amazing. I hope Mike is going to drive the absolute bananas out of this car and enjoy it to its core.

One of the reasons I love this channel is because of the "Legit Street Cars" mentality. Anyone can take any car and slap a massive engine in it and make it fast but at the cost of comfort and driveability. Make it operate like a stock vehicle with all the creature comforts but still modified and fast. That's why this is my favorite channel.

Indeed and a little Tesa tape goes a long way for a clean look. I used to always do my stereos all even and it was pain getting things to fit nice. Once I learned this trick from a professional installer it was much better. Also he didn't like to solder connections and said a good waterproof / heat shrinkable ones are much better and now they make the ones that are a combo of solder and crimp/heatshrink.

As for the oldsmobile - i knew from 1st ep that ignition coil is failing. Got my knowledge from Renaults from ~2000-2010 with their CoP setup. Those are still so f... unreliable. And they work when they are cold. Starting cold engine is great. But when they are on edge of failing... cold starts are still great, but when engine is hot or warm. Youre goin to flood the engine. And they were used in all kinds of engines. 1.6 K4M? 2.0 F4R? 2.0T F4RT (lol Fart)? Yeah. All of them had them. (Valeo part nr 245104).

I used to own a 964 and a 993 about 20 years ago (before the kids arrived and I needed a real backseat). Great cars...both. However, the idea of an LS motor gives me a good feeling. Nothing against the OE motor...but I would imagine the LS, especially in the USA, makes for an easier car to run daily and maintain at a more reasonable cost. Even when it comes to simple things, like changing spark plugs...the LS seems a more friendly experience (i.e. no +$1K engine drop). Great job! NICE car!

Agreed, stuff works great. I said it elsewhere, but if needing to remove it after being stuck and applying heat causes concern, apply some isopropyl alcohol, denatured alcohol, or mineral spirits and it typically comes apart fairly trouble free. Nerdy detail. That AC compressor likely wasn't vaccum sealed. Vaccum is a great way to get moisure out and find leaks, but it was likely dry nitrogen charged. Still nice to hear it was pressureized when you hooked it up, you know it's still sealed. You don't want to leave a system like that in a vaccum for extended periods of time. If there is a leak at a seal, it'll pull in dust and debris making a bad problem worse. You want higher pressure inside to push debris out if there is a seal leak.

When running an IAT sensor, the closer to the engine the better. You want to accurately gauge what the temp is entering the car, as inaccurate temps can lead to detonation. A popular way to do this is actually drill into the intake itself, right behind the throttle body. But, I would have actually installed that IAT sensor on the 90 degree elbow, as that is much closer to the source.

The sonic tools are tin snips. They come in left, right, and straight versions so you can cut sheet metal in left curves or right curves without the tool getting too much in the way. You can see this on the wiss tin snip packaging for the different ones they have. M1 M2 M3 differentiate the direction they are.

Oh heads up on the trunk lid ! it probably was like that to help cooling. We do that for Vdubs and Porsche's because the air flow over the car drops in when its lifted. if you don't have it you will see higher coolant temps or the cooling will work harder. I know it don't look good on a Porsche but it does work. Anyway hope this helps with knowing why something was done that way.

The quality of your work is top notch and the way you tackle problems is inspiring! But the coolest part of what you do is your choice of cars for example the Cutlas Sumpreme Sport model that I never heard of,keep it up brother!

I love it when you see someone who you assume knows so much runs into something simple for the first time and ia amazed. Like tin snips/aviation snips.

I thought the better choice to solve the intake issue is to install a classic “whale tail” and run the conical filter inside of that. You have a straight run, and the filter would draw fresh air from outside the engine bay. Perfect Porsche camouflage! This is one of my favorite cars you’ve had on the channel!
