Very cool video Paul, more stunning images. My fave vlogging subject is the east coast beaches around Hawke's Bay, but those westie beaches look awesome. Top watch again mate.

I'm slowly catching up on your videos, Paul. Beautiful work, thoughtful and thought-provoking. My copy of "Stolen Moments" (also the title of one of the greatest jazz songs of all time, by Oliver Nelson) arrived today. Stunning! I'm working up my own, from my recent trip to Vietnam and Thailand.

What single lens would yo7 like on your m8 for general use please? Thanks
@PaulCSmithPhotographer6 жыл бұрын
Hi adri, I use the 28mm F2.8, Carl Zeiss Biogon quite a lot on this camera. Really nice lens and I find that the 28mm the most versatile focal lenght on that crop sensor. I also use the Summicron 35mm which is just beautiful but not quite as versatile for what I do.

Paul C Smith Photographer thank you for your comment like to asked would a 5.000 dollar lens do better on a M8 please?
@PaulCSmithPhotographer6 жыл бұрын
Adri I think it would depend on the photographer.

Paul. Im liking your vlogs more and more every time I happened to be around. The drone footage adds a great angle to your work in general. .. Question, how do you think the M8 holds up in salty environments.
@PaulCSmithPhotographer6 жыл бұрын
Salty enviroments? Not sure will let you know when it starts to rust. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Hi Paul, I have a question about you setting while shooting: ISO 160? Aperture ? Did you use a ND filter for the long exposer shots? What kind of ND filter .... I am really curious and like to learn much as possible especially from such a good photographer like you . Thank you . By the way awesome quality video !!!
@PaulCSmithPhotographer6 жыл бұрын
Thanks MrBill. I used a B+W 10 stop filter on the long exposure shots. I nearly always shoot the M8 on "A" mode just set the aperture and let the camera do the rest. In this case I would have had the filter on and set the aperture to F11 and let the camera work out the shutter speed exposure. Thanks for watching and take care!

Paul C Smith Photographer thank for the explanation, one more question do you remove the IR cut filter or do you put the ND on top?
@PaulCSmithPhotographer6 жыл бұрын
I think I left it on for this video

Ok man, you habe your stile, and I like it. Nice photos. Which lenses you use? Thanks for the video, I had a good time.
@PaulCSmithPhotographer6 жыл бұрын
Hey man. mainly the Carl Zeiss 28mm F2.8 which gives me a 35mm aprox focal length, which I find best for what I do. All pictures on this video used the 28mm. The 35mm Summicron is also a favorite.
@myleicam85466 жыл бұрын
Thanks Paul. Im getting use to a 28 Elmarit in my M8. Im more use to 35 and 50mm on this camera. 28 (35)mm is a different game.
