In order to remember them our teacher told us that lend=give(one syllable) and borrow=receive(two syllables).I think that in this way it's easy to remember their meaning.

Hi Leila, thanks for another interesting lesson. During this lesson you showed an image of the Union flag, which I noticed was upside down! As an inverted flag indicates a distress situation, I hope it was done by accident and not on purpose... Keep up the good work, Cheers, Bas

1. Lend = give (to), borrow = take (form) 2. Lend = give (to) - to give temporarily for a short time. You expect to get it back (for it to be returned) 3. Borrow = take (from) - to take temporarily with the intention of giving back. Some things you could borrow… a pen, money, a car, a computer 4. Lend = give (to), Loan = give (to), British English ‘Loan’ = Usually a noun 5. Irregular verb - Lend = give (to) Lent, Regular Verb, borrow = take (from) borrowed 6. Borrow = take (from) - when you borrow something, you owe it back to the person you borrowed it from. 7. Sentence structure - Sabrah lent me ₤10, Sub + Verb +(Obj) Pronoun + Obj. Sabrah lent ₤10 to me. Sub + Verb + Obj + to + (obj) Pronoun. I borrowed ₤10 from Sabrah. Sub + Verb + (Obj) Pronoun + Obj. I borrowed a jumper from Sabrah. I borrowed Sabrah’s jumper. I've learned that look is a stative verb but if you use it in present continuous it means to take a look at sth.For example:Sam is looking at my assignment.

Well, it depends, you could say ‘you are looking’ but it means just in the moment. ‘You look gorgeous’ suggests I’m gorgeous all the time 😉💕

Honestly, we always say it’s better to learn only in English, try to avoid translating and using google translate. In my experience students learn faster 😊💕👩🏻‍🏫

Very good! Check numbers 1,3 and 4. There’s a mistake, you either need the past simple or present simple with 3rd person ‘s’. If you use the present simple the meaning will change so you might write something like ‘Leila always lends Sabrah money’. To express its a regular event. Put your corrections below and I’ll check 👍😊💕👩🏻‍🏫

If you are using the verb in the ING form you need to use ‘to be’ ‘ I’m always borrowing books from the library’ thanks for your comment and well done for using the verb in a different tense!😊👍💕👩🏻‍🏫

Hi, Dawai Ahmed, let me correct your sentence: Hi. Leila, could you please lend me your car, mine broke last night. Small explanation: when you use time marker (last night), you must use the simple present. And with lend and borrow is important to realize, who performs the action and the direction of the action. Lend - something leaves the person performing the action Borrow - the person performing the action is bringing something. In these examples, both verbs begin with the same letter. Lend -- leave Borrow -- bring This is my hint how to remember what verb to use.
