Lessons from the Past

In verses 11-13 of his epistle, Jude used three Old Testament examples and six stark word pictures to warn his readers about those who distort the Gospel through false teaching and ungodly living. These “certain people,” he explained, are untethered and fruitless, and their path is one of destruction and ultimate separation from God. Alistair Begg urges us to heed Jude’s warning, acknowledge the danger, and keep the faith by trusting in Christ, our eternal fixed point and the only one who can save us, shepherd us, and preserve us.

We don't go to a church either. Our pastor passed away and the new one left bills at my uncle's church where he was in trusted to preach before leaving there. I would like to find a church that is truly about God and not led blindly by someone. Lord forgive me but I can't go where I feel led astray by someone.

The waves are an apt metaphor for me at the moment! I tore a knee ligament sea swimming because a wave knocked me forwards and I fell. 2 year later and doing the rehab. It's been very tough and I wonder why I've had to suffer so much. But that's the sea for you isn't it. Thanyou for this sermon

True, no doubt, that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life and that He is the only Way to salvation. However, that does not make Calvin's doctrine right; nor does it make Calvin's efforts to "remove" all men who found fault with his doctrine right. As Christians, true Christians, we can be as dangerous to the Gospel as those Jude pointed out. We will be known by our fruit. The fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control and as the Lord commanded, by our humility.

Read the Holy Scripture! Do Not listen to the enemy! 2nd Timothy 1:7. "For GOD has not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love and sobriety." 1 John 1:9 " for if we confess our sins, HE is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness " Bathe in the Word of GOD- dont vear off course. Read Isaiah 30:21.
