I swear I heard these two crying about Kane dropping deep and getting in the way of Belligham and Foden every game. Now they just rattle off # of goals scored like we don't also have Palmer, Bellingham, Saka, etc, who are more than capable of chipping in. Not only does Watkins not drop deep, he presses fiercely, and constantly makes runs behind that OPEN UP SPACE for our midfield. It's a team game and the balance is better with Watkins than it is with Kane. If we didn't have goalscorers all over the pitch I might buy the "but 44 goals" argument. I'd honestly take Watkins or Solanke over Kane at this point because ITS A TEAM GAME. I'd rather win the tournament with goals shared across the team than see another loss where Kane gets the Golden boot.

I can understand the second callers point, some teams need a striker that can press. Defending for those teams start at the front. If you have a player who does nothing else but shoots at goal, doesn't try to tackle anyone, then the other team will surely have it easier to get at your back line and may score more goals. So if Kane scores 2 that other team may score 3 because he isn't doing any pressing and not helping the team in any other way. Not saying that's what's happening, but I think that's the point the caller was trying to make.

Kane is a good striker. Bayern Munich situation last season was because of Bayer Leverkusen & how club owners fell out with Tuchel. One thing for sure, you cannot blindly just out 1 striker in every game as a solution, other strikers should be tested in friendlies & Watkins did well. Kane will perform as good as Lewandoski even if he goes to Barca. They are just good. What Southgate couldnt do with Kane shouldnt necessary be the same for Tuchel. Why would anyone want to play the system that was suitable for Kane because that system is technically flawed in the big games ! The answer to why Bayern Munich didn’t win anything is because Kane didn’t score in the games that matter ! Messi the greatest player ever but if he never scored against Real Madrid or in a champions league final would he be the greatest player ever I don’t think so !
