I thought hot toddies we're made with moonshine?

You could technically make it with anything. But Whiskey is the standard and almost always used if you ordered it at a bar. Some places like to use scotch, and it's popular to substitute a favorite tea in place of just hot water.

I once got chastised for pouring hot tea in a glass cup as I was told it could crack the glass. Was it an old wives' tale and inaccurate? It was an old wife who told me this.

If it was thin glass it could break. The cup he is using is made to withstand heat.

It depends on the glass and whether you heat it quickly or slowly (like bringing water to a boil or pouring hot water in). Mugs will usually be fine because they're made with pouring hot stuff into it in mind, but glasses made for things like water might not be too happy with it. It's like some things can survive the microwave/dishwasher and some can't

Depends on the temperature difference between the glass and the hot water. If the glass is very cool, it can Crack it no matter what kind of glass it is. It's often wise to pour only a small amount of the hot water in the bottom and swish it around to warm the glass more gently before filling up the glass completely.

Never ever use whiskey in Hot Toddy! It’s do more inflammation in your body. Always use Brandy and see the difference 🥃
@jamesst18094 ай бұрын
Why is that?
@im5th2 ай бұрын
@@jamesst1809 Let me tell you, folks, whiskey-it’s mostly made from grains and corn, okay? And believe me, those things, they cause really bad inflammation. Not good! Now, brandy, on the other hand, brandy’s made from wine, made from grapes-much better stuff, folks. Much better. Look, all alcohol causes some inflammation, we know this. But brandy? It’s a step up from whiskey. If you’re going to have a drink, brandy’s the smarter choice. Just better all around, no question.
