Oh my you are not kidding that’s tiny. You could use these tiny pieces scattered in places throughout your pumpkin quilt with all things fall. -Autumn star above the trees. - Mini fall hanging for front door on house block. - make several scrappy ones like this piece. Combine them all to make a “quilt” themed block for your special quilt. - appliqué one to the front of your coffee cup or latte block. - you can also appliqué your kids initials so they each have a special star on the quilt too. 🧡🧡🧡

Those are awesome! I usually don’t work with pieces that small but when I’m working with what I consider small pieces I use a dob of washable Elmers glue to hold the 2 pieces together as I sew. It helps me a lot!

Oh boy! This year I have used 1 inch, 1.25 inch and 1.5 inch squares for different projects seen on KZbin. When going thru small scraps to use, I mostly trim them to 1.5. I love watching you sew these small blocks. Great suggestions from other viewers. My first thought is Christmas tree ornaments. Take care! Marion in Oregon.

@evelynfunda1413 ай бұрын
I can imagine these in a doll quilt, especially if you had made a matching toddler/ child quilt with regular sized stars. The one inch is as small as I’ve gone, but I made them wonky, which is simpler (for an improv sampler quilt).

That definitely would be adorable!

Oh the hours I could spend making those and end up with a quilt that would only partially cover up a Barbie doll! But absolutely adore them. Imagine them clustered together in a four patch along side larger blocks.❤❤❤

I would love to give these tiny blocks a try. I have never sewn a Sawtooth star block. If you can sew tiny you can sew any size! I have some tiny scraps that need a block home. I enjoyed this video very much. I had to giggle too at their tiny cuteness. I will have to change out my needle plate to a single hole stitch to prevent the pieces from going into the sewing “basement”. 😊

So adorable 🥰!! I started a tiny blocks Irish Chain quilt using a 5-dice block alternated with a just-background square (5-dice is what I call a 9-patch with 4 background and 5 colour/print units where the 5 pips on a dice 🎲 side would be! In my case, the colour/print units are tiny 2” sawtooth star blocks). I thought I was going tiny with 2” finished sawtooth stars ✨- but yours are Barbie sized! Thanks for the tips, I think I need a 1/4” foot for my Juki too!🎉

On my tiny piece blocks, the smallest makes a 3-inch 9-patch. So they’re small-but yours! Gracious! For some of the blocks I’m figuring out how to use Kimberly Jolly’s method of using bigger pieces where possible and then trimming the blocks down to size. It’s working pretty well so far. This is fun, Jessica! 🥰

I don’t know about sharpening the scissors you are using, but I can recommend the kind I use for trimming tiny pieces for a collage quilt. They are Karen Kay Buckley 6” with blue handle. Cost a little more maybe, but made my life so much easier! 😉

I participated in a wonky star exchange and received a lot of various sized blocks. Instead of having wide empty background spaces in the quilt, I made a dozen of those tiny 2 inch stars and scattered them around the quilt top. At first, I thought it would be cute to make a whole quilt with them, but I had enough after making the dozen. 😅

Yes, it would be hard to stick with when you need so many to do a quilt. I'm thinking about trying!

Oh my goodness! I have been working on tiny blocks for a sew along; which has been on hold for awhile. I have tons of 1 1/2 inch HST. The blocks really are cute, but I think yours look much neater than mine. They measure out right, but they just don't look as pretty as yours. I still need practice, I guess! I've never tried a flying geese, but I guess I can try it.
