Why didn't you do the 43 civ mod so you can have all of them? If you have a slightly bigger map it won't actually be TOO crowded but still crowded. You can also have less city states.

Hes using CBP, so he cant have two dll mods. You can get CBP working with 43 civs, but its a bit fiddly.

I'm a little sad my old strategy wont work in new civ, I always used to make my first city a production powerhouse and focus on building wonders as the cumulative bonuses make you nearly unstoppable by mid game, I think in one game I actually managed over 75% of all the wonders possible in a single city and about 90% of them across my entire empire.

one thing in Civ that always bothered me is that you can (in the base game at least) invent gunpowder before you invent money.

These games usually don't take into account that private citizens can invent new technologies independent of the government. You should actually be getting science "for free" at rates depending on the tech of your neighbors (and how much contact you have with them) as well as from your own population depending on your own policies and culture. It would probably be very frustrating if your own population acted on their own though.

Currency is a stupid tech, anyway, and should be broken up into coinage and fiat currency or something. Or even just done away with entirely, since mathematics, guilds, and banking could already cover trade rather nicely. And I see no reason why gunpowder couldn't have been more widespread at an earlier date. It's not cartridge based weapons, just muskets. Compare that to iron age siege weapons, which required manufacturing facilities, and cheese or alcohol, which require at least an empirical understanding of the chemical processes involved. Gunpowder is almost suspiciously late in the real-life timeline.

I quite like the art style of civ 6, it looks more inviting indeed and almost friendlier in a way, a bit less serious while a lot of the mechanics seem to be more complicated yet not much harder to learn

the strategic view looks amazing as well, and I think the issue with previous strat view was that I wasn't just a flat version of the map but it was a COMPLETELY different art style while civ6 strat view visual style is more in line with the default map mode while still maintaining the whole simplified map aspect

+Joseph Smith well the max you can normally play with is like 22, but there's a mod to let you play with either 62 or 63 civs. So just mod in another 30-40 civs and there you have it. Also, you should probably play on a really big map.

Vanilla Civ has 18 civs, each of the 2 major expansions has 9 + 1 (9 new ones and one which already existed in another DLC), and there was dlc which came with 2 civs, and all the other civs came independantly (However, unless I am mistaking, 2 of the idependant civs are automatically installed with vanilla civ, because they were just added later on)

No, Rome's port was, and still is, Citavecchia (I think that's how it's spelt); it's often just called "The port of Rome".

But According to Wikipedia (I know it's not 100% correct, if correct at all) Rome's Port was close to Fiumicino, more to the South-West, instead of Civitavecchia being in the North-West.

I actually got weirded out by Valletta being so close at first...I can't believe a WWII history buff like me forgot that Valletta is the capital city of the Island of Malta. EDIT: speaking of history, I'm totally waiting for "suddenly: Carthage" on the other side of the Med, and for flippin' Hannibal to appear, lol. (approx. 15min later into the vid and Carthage appears...called it, lol)

Well there's no way to make it really work, if you had aboriginal tribes there it would be really tough to beat them as they would have the whole continent to themselves, it makes more sense to leave it as colonial space imo.

Like others have mentioned. Used to hate the art style of CIV VI...now I love it. CIV V looks kinda bland, the colours dont really pop out it all becomes this "generic meh" colour haha.

I prefer marathon and I am even looking at mods that make the game slower but have standard unit/building speed due to how hard it is to build a viable army "Oh, you just built an entire army of riflemen? Well here is all the Great War techs! Have fun upgrading!" is a problem.

The Letter A How many hammers? If you have say 20 hammers (Absolute shit for that speed if that's your capitol) I believe the cost on marathon is 240? 12 turns then. Bit much so there are mods that are Marathon speed with unit/building cost of Standard.

I don't follow your logic, at all. What does population density have to do with non-food resources? If anything, it's the *lack* of raw goods that made Europe great, in the imperialistic sense. They had to go out and kill people to get spices and exotic imports.
