Let's Learn Something: Project no.26
Good day, guys :)
I turn V type compressor into V type engine using what I have in the shop due to Cov1d-19 lockdown.
I want to explore my knowledge into something different that I never tried before.

In theory you can produce up to 1atm/~14.7psi of boost(Considering we don't have any leak and no extra space between the pump/engine for the air to expend) since the compressor compress air once per rotation while the engine intakes once every 2 rotations. But a good portion if not more of the power gained will be consumed in the process due to the force needed to compress air, leaks and inefficiencies.

The oil routing and using an old pump as a tensioner was smart. I was expecting a total loss system at first. Dunno how long plastic tubes will hold up with the heat though. Looks like #1 is more oil starved than #2. Though it appears both are getting a decent amount to the heads.

Aah, unlike that later turbo-charged V4, this one does circulate it's oil somewhat properly, so it won't self-destruct from running the bearings dry. The wobbly belts do look concerning, I hope those don't slip and throw the timing out of what. Assuming the oil lines and acrylic can handle the heat, I would love to see this engine actually power something. The windows to the cam and crank shafts really add to the crazy DIY look.

@lolzu7797 4 жыл бұрын
@@ilyas.o "no power" "100x less durable" "require more maintenance" "not worth the money" you dont know ANYTHING about engines. 2 strokes (especially smaller CCs make alot more power if tuned properly than 4 strokes, they can be as durable as 4 strokes if you maintain it properly. Last of all many of 2 strokes are cheaper than 4 strokes.
