Yeah and plus if you bend a heavy gauge acoustic string it will go outa of time or break You can get away bending on the Ernie Balls super slinkies but not on a ,010 Martin 🥴

I've never understood this joke, made most famously in "Wayne's World." The longstanding guitar-store joke before that was "Smoke On The Water." "Stairway" is actually fairly hard to play, including the opening chords, so it's not like guitar shops are constantly overrun by people playing it. It doesn't really make any sense.

@@havable The intro isn't super hard (though there is that one chord) but it's hard enough that not a ton of people are playing it in guitar shops. People who are able to play it are able to play lots of things.

What a load of bullshit! Stairway is the most famous, most iconic, and the 73 MSG is the best solo of all time. Thats just plain fact. No Sepo loser will come close, and as for Bohemian rhapsody, even Brian has said Stairway is THE solo, the one that inspired more to pick up the guitar than any other. Dream on little ones. Some people just go ahead and use super slinky electric guitar strings on the acoustic. You might go through a few brands before you find one that sounds good.

I love how this trope of the "no stairway" bit... It was a joke made famous by wayne's world... i've literally played that song in every single guitar shop. I've ever been to and never had a problem with anyone saying anything. The last time I did it was at palin music center in springfield, missouri, and one of the attendants knowing I was just shopping around for a new amp, and in no way able to afford anything over a 1000 went and handed me a $6000 PRS custom 24 and proceeded to just let me jam. It still cracks me up.How many people believe that is a real thing lol

Yeah, you’re a very excellent guitar player. I can spot people like you a mile away. I’ve been playing for 51 years. I don’t see a whole lot of difference in an acoustic in an electric only difference is electric hell of a lot easier to fly 71 years old and I have two of them, but I have five acoustics I love guitars. If ever you want to know when a guitarist is absolutely awesome listen for guitar Squeak or squeal, that’s when you hear that annoying noise between chord changes as the artist slides his hand up and down the neck and his fingers drag along the strings squeaking along the way. When you don’t hear it you know the guitarist is exceptional. This artist is exceptional.
