My fuel filter is OEM on my 95 Camry lol, changing it as we speak and the bottom was the easier part, the top is the one that I've applied liquid wrench to and soaking because it's giving me a fight and I don't want to round it Good luck with your 97 Avalon, you got this!

Great job bro i want the change this part in my 2000 Toyota solara sle same 1mzfe engine it's never been changed and lately it's been not wanting to turn on after driving it around a couple times and it smells a lot like gas in the the morning first thing when I turn it on hopefully it's not a big issue

The strawberry jelly man here: Arrrggghhh-you beat me for having the longest time from OEM manufacture date to when the fuel filter was changed. I am at 24 years on my 1999 Toyota Solara 1mzfe. I bought the fuel filter months ago that my life is just been hordes of chaos. Because I don't want it put me down to miss an interview tomorrow, I want to wait till after the interview before attempting to replace it cuz knowing me it's going to take a couple days for screwing stuff-up.

I've been working on cars for over 50 years. I now own a 2000 Lexus ES 300 that my brother gave me for free. It is without a doubt the most difficult vehicle to work on that on that I've ever seen. Every job is a struggle at best and a nightmare at worst. Last week I was changing the cabin air filter. It's located in the center console down by the gas pedal. There is a door you have to take off to get the filter out. They put a wiring harness right in front of the door that makes it hard to get the door and the filter out. You have to hold the gas pedal down and hold the wiring harness out of the way at the same while you are trying to pull the filter out. On my minivan it takes about 2 minutes to change the cabin air filter. On the Lexus it took over an hour. I'm thinking of selling the thing and buying something else just because the Lexus is so f...ing hard to work on.

Great video! My grandfather has a 97 Avalon with 240k miles. The other day it shuttered bad and stalled on the highway. Got it home and it was barely running and shaking real bad. Tried starting again an hour later and it cranks but won’t fire. Hoping it may be filter (original part)

@@tongo117 As an interesting point: the official repair manual instructs the technician to lift the back seat to gain access to the fuel pump, disconnect the fuel pump harness, turn the vehicle on until the engine shuts itself down, and then replace the fuel filter.
