Many mechanics tried but no one could get this Lexus to start. It was abandoned and the owner was fed up and said if I can get it to start it I could keep it for free! Awesome! Lexus time! Alex check the ALT fuse which is the main fuse possibly blown( can’t remove it it’s bolted down inside the fuse block) The throttle might be a ECTS fuse which is common to go when the battery dies. This engine is notorious for carbon build up on the intake which is likely on this one if it hasn’t been cleaned before. Good luck!

@@Tyshkevich How long is long? I store my winter vehicle outside all spring until fall for about 7 months of the year. I don't even hook up a tender or remove the battery and it starts and runs just fine every time. Been doing it for 4 years. I use so much air fresheners that mice stay away too, I just usually get spider webs in the cab. Also tons of debris and tree sap and leaves but that's nothing a good wash won't fix.

Yeah, I had a 2jz with 246590 miles on it, it had piston slap, leaky valves, bad rear main seal and front seal, vvti gear was oem and the previous owners put multi purpose gasket maker it the vvti gear. Still ran while spraying oil all over the place.

Yep. My 50+ year old 3/4-ton is the size of a Colorado. 20 years ago, when a friend needed his '79 2dr Caprice towed, the U-Haul guy said we had to rent the flatbed; if it were the 4dr, the dolly would've been enough. Towed the damn thing on the bumper ball too. TL;DR, U-Haul towing policies are open to interpretation by counter personnel.

I bought a 78 cutlass. Had the 350 rocket. Guy said they put a transmission in it, took it for a test drive. It quit moving, and was making a knocking noise. Gave him $200. The torque converter bolts fell out. I brought some bolts with me. Paid him. Installed the bolts, and drove off. The look on his face when the car went into gear was priceless.

When you're not going to drive a car for a long time, you should take the battery out of the car and store it safely, some cars catch fire, because of the acid activity making everything hot, and energy building up, gasoline lines get perforated and ignited and the car starts to bur, many documentaries about it. Blown fuses there's a hidden pcm fuse under the drivers front cover for the pcm. Last time I had one like this it had a couple blown inside and out from customer jumping backwards.

I've had the same BS happen to me at uhaul and even just regular rental yards so many times with different towing vehicles! It can be a nightmare when you get someone who thinks they know everything but meanwhile know nothing.

So actually, you only hot wired/started it with the aid of a paperclip and a jump pack. The fix, was a lot more involved, but well done. Start with the basics, correct method diagnosis is key, and makes full repairs so simple. I have given away a few cars myself....goose bumps and that happy tingly feeling all over again.

The ECU-iG LH10 amp fuse is bad that controls the power steering the radio and different accessories in the car the fuse box for that particular one is underneath the driver side same place where the brake switch is.

Several other people are saying there is a fusible link in front of the battery that if blown (or has a bad connection) would explain everything.

i had a similar issue. I had a 1998 Ford explorer V8 eddie bower edition. called places to rent a trailer, all said no, based on the vehicle i have.. 5.0 L V8., and a sticker on a pillar saying i could tow... and a factory installed big tow recepticle too. nuts!

I have a 2006 Lexus IS 350 and when it sits it kills batteries. Lexus has given me 3 batteries since the end of 2019. Also when you replace the battery and the Speedo goes all the way up and back but won’t start there is a sequence that Lexus walked me through to get it going. Lots of electrical.

For those of you having a similar issue, the alternator powers your battery. The battery gets charged while the car is running. If the it stops running when disconnected from power source that means alternator is bad or you power source is too low and won’t charge. The electrical system in the car runs off of the alternator. Bad alternator = electrical dash problems.

Just unhitch it and hook it up to your truck and shoot even return it hooked to your truck. Hey but i work at sunbelt. We have trailers! Just call a local general tool branch. We will know thats a f150! To what customers have said to me if your renting more than one day uhaul is cheaper. But if ur renting it for one day sunbelt is. But again id call and clarify that

UHaul has/had a policy of not renting any trailer to be towed by Ford Explorers, due to decades old incidents. But the dealer I spoke to said how it came back was out of their control. The equivilent Mercury vehicle was allowed.

Just started the video, and I can relate to the U-Haul issue. I was one of 6 or 7 people who ordered an 89 Mercury Grand Marquis with both the 351W and Trailer Tow III Package. This gave the car a 6,000 pound tow rating. U-Haul balked at renting me a trailer that was 1,000 pounds empty, but could weigh as much as 4,000 pounds. Their logic was that the trailer cannot weigh more than the tow vehicle. Nonsense.

That’s hilarious…I had an 02 as well back in 2006. Loved it and totaled it over the stupidest shit imaginable…a lady going over the same overpass that I was in the oncoming lane veered into my lane I swerved and drove into the concrete barrier at 45 miles an hour. It destroyed the front end to the point insurance totaled it out…I wanted to buy it back from the insurance company but repairs and getting insurance on a salvage title vehicle just was financially feasible for me at that point in my life. So my best friend bought the truck back and we spent the next two years putting it back together. He still it today.

I forget the details but U-Haul stopped renting trailers to people with ford explorers because of a combination of death wobble and certain year models the factory tires that rolled off the production line on the explorers had a recall, or was defective or something. People flipped/rolled and died. I don't know if that included ford trucks but U-Haul just denied trailers to certain ford owners. Probably multiple lawsuits made it not worth renting to you if you had a ford. Someone will probably say I'm wrong and I might be but, that is what I remember what was said when I rented them for people.

Eliminate the battery by taking it to Auto Zone and having them charge it. But you could very well have a bad connection courtesy of a mouse chewing through a wire or two.

I'll tell you right now every time I go to U-Haul I tell them the exact same thing, that I'm towing a 1998 Honda Civic with a sequoia or tundra. Doesn't matter what I'm going to get or what I'm using, because those guys are idiots. I literally had them tell me that my tundra couldn't tell a Genesis. I had them tell me that I couldn't put a G35 on their full size trailer because it was too low, both of which were not at all true. Hell the G35 with a shell so it's set up even higher than normal height, and prior to that day I had told plenty of z's and g's

It's because the 4 wires are not plugged in, they send a signal to the ECU. It's not the altinator.

I used to rent U-Haul trailers alot for work and they always asked what you are pulling them with, Explorers and Rangers are a no go, period. A number of years ago ford had a problem with some Goodyear Wranglers that they had problems with and someone who had an Explorer rolled their truck with a U-Haul trailer hooked up and sued all 3 manufacturer's, so U-Haul will not rent you a trailer if you're driving an Explorer and or a Ranger. A U-Haul dealer told me that about 10 years ago. True? Idk, but it seems like you got hung up by it.

I know for sure that with the brake switch malfunctioning it wmalfunctioning it will cause at least in my Honda it caused it it caused it to not shift in-and-out of gear that was a safety feature Put a new switch in Then Check engine codes cars probably in limp mode 2
