Loved the part where Robbie says "I'm not a gay athlete, I'm just an athlete". For some reason all in the media it's always, gay marriage equality, gay couple, gay wedding, gay this an that, when we shouldn't have to put the word gay in front of whatever title we hold , it should just be marriage equality, a couple, a wedding.

BuzzFeed should do a video on the Ace Umbrella, AKA asexuals and those falling within the spectrum between asexuality and sexuality. Asexuals are frequently told "Oh, you just haven't found the right person yet." or "Maybe your life is just too busy right now for you to think about relationships.", even if they are a grown adult who has not felt aroused a single time in their whole life. Some people even tell asexuals they are just avoiding relationships and putting a name on it to get attention. Demisexuals are often shamed, as people assume they are just saying they won't have sex until they form a loving relationship with someone and then put a name on it so they looked special. People will not listen when they explain that they literally only can feel sexual attraction on rare occasions and it is with people they are emotionally attached to about 99% of the time. Grey asexuals also can be harassed by homophobic people because in the circumstances where they do feel sexual attraction, some do feel it for the same sex. And most importantly, it is good for people to be informed on this info so that if their friend comes out as asexual or a grey asexual, they can understand what their friend feels.
@graceannegoff24279 жыл бұрын
I honestly have no idea what asexual, demisexual, pansexual, and all the other types of different sexual prefrences. I am very strait and have just been introduced into the lgbt community. Can you please help explain the different sexual preferences to me?
@LilChuunosuke9 жыл бұрын
Graceanne Goff Sure! Instead of trying to cram all the info into one comment, let's break it down into a couple. First, what are the things in the LGBTQ+ community that you are most confused and curious about? I can explain those first ^-^
@graceannegoff24279 жыл бұрын
Phantomhive what asexual and pansexual are because that's what I hear the most about
@LilChuunosuke9 жыл бұрын
Graceanne Goff When someone says they are asexual, it means they literally cannot feel any sexual attraction. They never ever feel desire to have sex, never get horny or anything like that. They still often times date people and sometimes will have sex with the person they are dating, but they don't feel anything sexual when it happens. Pansexual people are attracted to all sexes (male or female, determined by what you are born with) and all genders (how you feel inside. I usually simplify it to masculine, feminine, both, or neither, but there are literally hundreds of terms for genders to specify different common types of ways people feel on the inside). So, because of this, a pansexual's feelings of sexual attraction towards other people are often completely determined by that person's personality traits because the body they were born in makes no difference on whether or not they feel sexual attraction.
@graceannegoff24279 жыл бұрын

Well I think some can see why they feel it be a problem. More so if it is male to female. People just can't get over,let go of the biological differances. Is as born males,even if been on all the stuff to be used,accepted by law then. They still feel inferior. Sad really. I do mean the ones not seeing the change. I also sure most don't fully know what goes on in the change processes of the body.

Another great thing about the equestrian sports, everyone is very accepting and you always have someone to talk to. I've NEVER heard any homophobic or sexist comments in the horse world. I'm not entirely sure about my sexuality so I haven't come out to anyone but I know that if I did then my stable friends would accept me without blinking. A friend of mine (who's gay and out) got asked if she had a boyfriend or liked any guys and she answered "Nah, I'm a lesbian" and the person who asked just said "Ah okay, so do you have a crush on any girl then?" and that was it. Horse people are so open minded, it doesn't matter if you're gay, straight, trans, female, male or whatever. You'll be accepted and respected either way! Oh and btw, friendly reminder that the equestrian sports are the only sports in the Olympics with gender equality, men and women compete on the same level against each other!

When I started college, I ran for my school's cross-country team. For the time that I was on the team, I had to keep silent about my sexuality because I felt that my teammates were uncomfortable about it. They didn't act the same towards me as they did each other, they acted VERY uncomfortable when my fiancé came to our races, and a lot of the time I was exempt from the activities they had planned. It sucks, and it is unfair. Do NOT let your teammates discourage you from doing what you love. I loved running, but I had to quit my team because of my teammates' ignorance. College is a time for fun, growth, and discovery; not discrimination.

How are we ever going to get along if those being prejudiced against aren't willing to support their ignorance.

Claire Wong find the opposite gender.. i think that will be easier to live,, beside you re bisexual , i don't see big problem here... it will be hard if you're gay or lesbian :/ why do you need to come out anyway, you're bi that means that you have feeling for male and female, if your family don't want you to date same gender as you person that's fine, you can find your opposite gender lol
@deviija9 жыл бұрын
Claire Wong Coming out can be very important, cathartic, and relieving, but it's also incredibly important to gauge whether you are in an environment where you feel safe enough to come out. Unfortunate as it is, the society and the world still has a long way to go with acceptance and support. It is vital that you ensure you are prepared and comfortable for when you come out. For example, if you're a young teen that is still dependent upon your family for shelter, food, schooling, etc., then that is something that needs to factor into how and if you feel safe to come out. If there's concern your family may disown you or throw you out of the house, then it may be better to wait until you're older, more independent, and not reliant on your family for financial and material support, etc., so that if the worst case scenario DOES happen -- and I hope it never will! -- then you are not gravely impacted by it. For your own safety and welfare.

What does your sexuality have to do with how good you are at a sport?
@gwennicole59489 жыл бұрын
MexAssassinM.X It doesn't. At all. But in sports, especially men's sports, they are pressured to be more masculine and emotionless. Gay is associated with femininity, which is stupid because sexuality has nothing to do with gender/gender roles, so it is stigmatized to be gay in sports.
