Jackie Chan (H.K.) was the world's biggest action star looking to make a bigger impact on american audiences. Chris Tucker (ATL) was among the young 'up and comers' in the comedy game (stand-up and a few films). Jackie signed on to do his first film with an american studio in over a decade. It was a buddy cop feature and at first, Tucker wasn't the original choice. Brett Ratner who directed Tucker in Money Talks (1997) had signed on as well. This was huge for the end of summer, 25 years ago. Plenty of laughs and action all over. Great chemistry between Chan & Tucker. The Def Jam soundtrack was one of the biggest of the decade. Legendary composer Lalo Schifrin with another great score. Elizabeth Peña (Detective Tania Johnson) and Philip Baker Hall (Captain Bill Diel) passed away. Please watch the sequels, also directed by Brett Ratner. Definitely don't miss the outtakes of the whole trilogy.

3 parts of this movie that really make me crack up laughing are: 1. When Carter starts dancing like Michael Jackson in the middle of the street after blowing the car up 2. When Lee and Carter are bonding and practicing disarming techniques while Edwin Starr's song "War" plays in the background 3. When Carter says "I know that ain't the bomb. Get that bomb away from me." towards the end. And trust me, the blooper reels for the remaining two movies are just as funny when it comes to the slip-ups with the dialogue

Chris Tucker is so funny in this movie. He sso skinny, thin and trim amd he has the funniest voice on the planet.... i love the when he's telling Jackie " it aint you all, it's yall"

I can’t stop laughing. @4:18 The song is Another Part of Me by Michael Jackson. About 20 years ago, Chris Tucker got to join Michael Jackson and Usher on stage and the trio danced together. @7:03-@7:16, @15:38, @16:00, @19:07, @21:33, @21:51, @22:54, @23:13-@23:19, and @24:30 continue to be my favorite funny moments in the film.

While I do enjoy Jackie's American work, it often relies on 'pair Jackie with a comedian or pretty lady'. Hollywood seriously underestimated Jackie's solo star power. For more of this formula - Shanghai Noon & Shanghai Knights, The Tuxedo, The Medallion, and Around The World In 80 Days (2004) For some of Jackie's better Hong Kong work - Police Story series (3 is Supercop, 4 is First Strike), Drunken Master & Legend of Drunken Master, Operation Condor, and Rumble in The Bronx.

Hey, liala. We had our first exposure to Jackie through Hal Needham and Burt Reynolds. CANNONBALL RUN II. Hal ran bloopers and outtakes during credits, and apparently, Jackie loves that, too. "Show me your ass" has to be one of the best of all time. Jackie wanted to distinguish himself from other MA movie stars, so he uses more everyday items as props. Running up walls is still my favorite thing he does. Jackie Chan cowboy? SHANGHAI NOON. Chris Tucker is a really funny guy. Loved him in FIFTH ELEMENT. I think he said there might be another RH in the works. I really hope it doesn't suck. Please keep that luscious wrinkly hair as long as you can. TTFN

ESPECIALLY:* Police Story 1-4 (Police Story 3 AKA "Supercop" featuring *MICHELLE YEOH* and PS4 AKA "First Strike") Drunken Master 2 Project A I & II Dragons Forever Armor of God I & II (AOG2 AKA "Operation Condor") Miracles: The Canton Godfather Rumble in The Bronx Who Am I? Some of his Hollywood movies are good (The Shanghai Noon/Knights movies are fun, The "Karate Kid" reboot was surprisingly good, "The Foreigner" was *excellent* ) but a lot of them suck ("Around The World in 80 Days" and "The Spy Next Door" are garbage) and none of them are as *intense* as his classic HK era movies.

Please, can you react to the 1992 movie 'A League Of Their Own', with actors like Tom Hanks, Rosie O'Donnell, Madonna, and Geena Davis. Its a great movie, about women`s basketball, though its a tear jerker at times. I tear up every time i watch it, and i`m tough lol. But, definitely a must watch.
