Is there life after death? In the first part of this series, Pastor Craig Groeschel explains the three things that happen when our life on this earth is done. The third thing might be the toughest to grasp-we’ll all face judgment, but who does the judging, and what will we be judged on? Your afterlife is dependent on the life you live now. What you believe about eternity determines how you live today. Get a glimpse at life after death and the afterlife in One Minute After You Die.
Watch the full One Minute After You Die series: • What Happens One Minut...

i like this pastor, he seems sincear and speaks of truth...yes, this world and its pleasures, is the greatest obstacle for our souls to gain heavens...and as the world becomes more comfort, the salvation gets more difficult...the pleasures and comforts of the body prevent us from heavens...i think that the only thing we can do in this case, is to share our comfort or benefits , with people who are suffering, and have only the nesesary and not more and so we will not allow the pleasures of this world to corrupt us

I’m sorry to hear of your struggle. What you do is find a church with small groups/life groups and build up a new group of people. I did that at the most lonely time of my life, four years ago, and now I have a fantastic friend group who bring me so much joy. It takes time to build up your social circle again but it’s worth all the effort.

Man immediately after death is no different to what he was five minutes before. That's regarding to his outlook and character and personality. You don't have to go to church, as long as you read your Bible, have faith and be a good person all-over. Some people think they are the chosen ones, God's elect not so. Everyone will find Jesus within themselves using wisdom and discretion. There is no day no night no topical wife no rent no bills no sickness and no suffering, only Love. Yeshua (Jesus) said, "many will be called but few chosen." Just contemplate on this for a moment. Why would He have said this? Because most professed Christians will NOT go to Heaven! Remember how Christ spoke about the broad path which most are on that leads to distruction, but not many find the narrow gate? Ah, so you believe God is One? Jesus replied to those giving themselves a pat on back, "even the demons believe and tremble." The truth is, most who are baptized fall away...they think, well that's me OK. Nope. It will not be OK! Put in a military context, Jesus is looking for Marines who have lasted the course; not look warm conscripted G.I.s who only did the minimum so as not to end up in the glass house.

I think it's a little confusing, splitting out the Last Judgment into two events, personally. "Once to die, and then the judgment" doesn't leave much wiggle room. Let's say there is part of a human that lives on after we die. Does the spirit fly off to either heaven or hell, in advance of the Last Judgment? Without being judged? Who said there was an immortal soul? Where in scripture is this taught? Is it only by inferring from a handful of verses that we come to this conclusion? So a person gets cast into the lake of fire twice? This does not align with what scripture says.. When God breathed the breath of life into Adam's nostrils, he BECAME a living soul. That word "soul" is translated from the Hebrew "nephesh." Did you know that the same word is translated "creature" when the Genesis account describes the animals that were created? Living CREATURES. Not living souls. The same word, nephesh, is used for both Adam, and all the living things God created. Do animals have immortal souls, separate from their physical bodies? As others have said, we don't "have" a soul, we "are" a soul. A created, living thing. We don't have a separate, immortal thing in us. This is Greek philosophy (and popular pagan belief) that worked its way into Judea, and the early patristic doctrines, through the hellenization of the Mediterranean world when Alexander conquered it. Greek was the language spoken in Jesus's day, hence the Greek scriptures, both the Septuagint and the New Covenant writings. The conquered lands became Greek, in custom, language, culture, and EDUCATION. Plato taught the immortality of the soul, as did his teacher, Socrates. And this belief filtered into Judaism, then early Christianity. But it is not taught in scripture, it is only seen in a few scriptures because we expect it to be there, since it has become unquestioned "fact" over the centuries, even millennia. This inferred, assumed doctrine is what has led Christianity into a number of faulty interpretations of the afterlife, what happens when we die. The Old Testament teaches that when a man dies, he is dead, knows nothing, and descends into the "land of oblivion." This is Sheol, the grave. Hades is the Greek equivalent, the "abode of the dead," the grave. Not in heaven or hell, but dead, and awaiting the resurrection in the age to come. Some to life, some to death. The immortality of the soul is something that just about everyone believes, but the scriptures do not teach that we go either to heaven or hell upon death, to wait in one of those places for the Resurrection. It just isn't in there. It came from non-Jewish traditions and philosophies.

@@eyemnew2991 Hello, sir/ma'am (one can't tell from "@eyemNew" which it is). What are you getting at? When a person dies, they are dead. Nobody goes to heaven or hell upon death, unless by "hell" you mean "hidden," which was the original English meaning. Hidden in the Earth, buried, underground . We aren't born immortal. Only those resurrected on the last day, which are in Jesus, are granted immortality. Nobody else is immortal. The belief in the "immortality" of the human soul is not scriptural, it was imported from Greek philosophy. The Bible never says that humans are made with immortal souls. Please look it up. I cannot convince you. You have to find it for yourself. May the Most High God bless you!

At 14 minutes he talks about Lazarus and Martha, yet, we dont pay attention to what Martha says after Jesus tells her that he will live again, Martha says "I know he will live again at the resurrection". It was a core belief that the dead are dead, but will be brought back to life at the resurrection in the end of times. As for the 2 criminals on the cross, again we use this as proof that we go to heaven after death yet pay attention to the verse, there are no comma's in ancient Hebrew or Greek text. There for when Jesus says today, you will be with me in paradise, re read the statement without a comma. Surely I tell you today you will be with me in paradise, but if Jesus said to Mary do not touch me for I have not yet ascended to my Father, how then can the dead have gone with him to heaven. Jesus also said noone has gone to heaven except he who has come down from heaven, clearly talking about himself. If God never changes as he states, why would Able's blood be calling out to him from the grave after Cain killed him? Would he not be with God in heaven already? See, this is a false teaching and yes it is good to be in love with God, but if you do not understand his words, how can you truly know him.

Able was the first resident in She’ol She'ol (/ˈʃiːoʊl/ SHEE-ohl, /-əl/; Hebrew שְׁאוֹל Šəʾōl), in the Hebrew Scriptures, She’ol is a place to which all the dead go, Genesis 4: 7 And Abel, besides bringing his offering of the fruit of the ground, also brought a sacrifice of the firstlings of his flock and of their fat. And Father YAHweh honored Abel and his offerings; 8 Now Cain, talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose against Abel his brother and killed him. 9 Then Father YAHweh said to Cain: Where is Abel your brother? And he said; I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper? 10 And Father YAHweh said: What have you done? The + voice of your brother's blood cries out to Me from the ground. 1 YAHchanan 3: 12 Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and + murdered his brother. And why did he murder his brother? Because his works were evil, and his brother's were righteous. The first thing we need to understand is that Able was a righteous man. So Able waited on Salvation’s PLAN to be carried out longer than anyone. YAHchanan 1: 1 In the beginning was the, PLAN of Father YAHweh, and the plan was with Father YAHweh, and the PLAN was Father YAHweh's. 2 The same PLAN was in the beginning with Father YAHweh. 3 All things were done according to this PLAN, and without it nothing was done, that was done. 4 In this PLAN was life, and that life was the light to mankind. YAHchanan 8:12 Then YAHshua spoke again to them, saying: I am the light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. YAHchanan 11: 25 YAHshua said to her: I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he will live. 26 So all living and believing in Me, will never die in the world to come. Do you believe this? 27 She said to Him; Yes, Teacher. I believe that You are the Messiah, the Son of Father YAHweh, Who was to come into the world. We should be very thankful to Father YAHweh that no one goes to She’ol anymore more. YAHshua’s changed all that forever. 2 Corinthians 5: 1 For we know if our earthly house, ( physical bodies ) this tabernacle, is destroyed, we have a building from Father YAHweh, a house not made with hands, eternal with Father YAHweh. 2 For indeed, in this we groan, earnestly longing to be invested in our house which is from Father YAHweh 3 If indeed, we will be found invested with a garment, not being naked. 4 For indeed, we who are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened; oppressed, not because we want to be divested, but to be invested; in order that this mortal may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now He Who has prepared us for this very thing is Father YAHweh, Who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee. 6 Therefore, having confidence always, and knowing that while we are at home in this body, we are away from our home out of Father YAHweh 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are of great courage, and then think it better, rather, to go away from this home out of this body, and be present with Father YAHweh. Psalam 37: 4 Delight in Great YAHweh; trust only in Him, and He will bring to pass the desires of our hearts! Thank You Great Father YAHweh for this blessed hope.

Sharing a truth ?' We dont really die? I heard those words before in the book of Genesis 3.4 the serpent said to the woman You will not surely die. Its totally the opposite of what God told Adam and Eve , in the day you eat it You will shall surely DIE. Gen 3.19 in the sweat of your face you shall eat bread till you return to the ground ,for out of it you were taken , For DUST YOU are and to DUST you shall return . God didnt select his words and told Adam that only his physical body will die and he will continue to exist out of his body somewhere that he was going to be present with the Lord and absent from his body. He say ...YOU...the living being that he formed from the ground , will return to the dust , NOT only some part of him will die. Adam or any part of Adam was not made eternal or immortal. He was made a little lower than the angels a mortal creature with an expiration date on his life. Just read Gen 3.22 how God placed cherubs at the garden to guard the tree of LIFE, to prevent them from eating from the tree and LIVING FOREVER. Eternal life was no longer available and quoting Gods own words they surely die and they need the same thing that we all need , a RESURRECTION from the dead and eternal life with an incorruptible body not available at the store near you but only at the second coming when all who are sleeping in the dust of the ground will hear his voice. If the only thing that dies is the body and you go straight to be with the Lord and we never really die , who needs eternal life and immortality if it came installed and you have the whole package since creation. Nowhere in the bible says we are spirits inhabiting a body and at the time of death a change of address is submitted to be at home present with the Lord. Pauls words are twisted by the best preachers because when they preach the subject they start from the middle of the book and dispatched the teaching with a selection of scriptures and conclusions , excluding the book of Genesis were God tells us what is man. Absent from the body and present with the Lord has a companion scripture that is almost identical. 1Cor 5.3 For indeed, as ABSENT IN the BODY but present in SPIRIT, have already judged ,as though I were present. In this scripture he even mentioned the word Spirit which is totally interpreted in 2Cor 5.8 and assume that he is saying that we are at home as spirit beings. I will not discuss the meaning of 2Cr 5..8 because for lack of space, but lets be honest. Paul was revealed in plenty of details everything about the resurrection of the dead and his hope rested on the fact that the only way to return to life after death is exactly the same way Jesus returned to life and is our best example, through the RESURRECTION of the dead. And this is the subject that the churches doesnt talk about it and ignore because if the only thing that dies is the body and at death you are taking the express train to heaven fully aware and conscious and have the privilege to be with the lord bypassing the resurrection of the dead judgement , the second coming then who needs to be worry about receiving immortality and a new body. Why doesnt people believe what the bible say Adam, the first man was from the ground, the new Adam is a life giving spirit, but if you have this gift from the beginning of creation you didnt get it from God. 1Cr. 15.46 THE SPIRITUAL IS NOT FIRST , but the natural, and afterward the SPIRITUAL. YOU ARE NOT A SPIRIT, YOU ARE A MORTAL THAT NEEDS ETERNAL LIFE AND THE ONLY WAY BACK FROM THE GRAVE AND TO THE LAND OF THE LIVING IS POSSIBLE ONLY AT THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD.
