Lifetime Teton Angler Kayak - Crate Cart

Here is another video on some quick modification anyone can do to make the Lifetime Teton Kayak fisherman friendly. I modified a simple crate to have an axle and wheels to help with transporting the kayak down trails or bike paths when the lakes don't have easy access launches.

Man that was a nice kayak cart you made. I like how easy it is to take the wheels off when you need to. It look like it is easy to put together. I really like how you hooking up the kayak. I like the seat that is on the kayak as well. I have a question? I am thinking about buy this kayak for backup. I'm 6ft 250 - 265Ibs and was wondering with this kayak hold me pretty well. Also I was wondering do you have any problem with your foot falling off the foot brace. I have big very very wide feet sz15 6 EEEEEE with very fat wide toe that is equally straight across making it for a very very wide foot. With my foot being 6 1/2 inches wide they keep falling off of the foot brace on my kayak and I need a little bit of foot brace. I have to kayak barefooted 👣 because there is no shoe , sock , or boot that will fit my foot. I love to kayak but I'm not going to let my very wide feet with fat wide toe stop me. You have a great Channel sir keep up the good work. I also like the flip flops you are wearing. That is the only Footwear that will fit me that I have to wear 365 days out of the year. I haven't had any issues with my feet falling off. This is my light kayak I use on small ponds. It holds me ok but at 260lbs I feel like it is pushing the limits of what it is designed for. The flip flops are just a cheap pair from Amazon.

My son wants to stall kayaking in the spring so I'm looking for something that could hold him or me. O the flip flops are from Amazon okay. I'm looking for a pair of flip-flops that I can wear while I'm kayaking because I have to use the pair that I have for my personal use for everyday wear 365 day of the year and I'm looking for a backup pair to use for kayaking only. @@doreage1 i got the rod at home depot. Just 1" aluminum. The Wheels are C-tug replacements from Amazon.

I got them on Amazon. They are C-Tug replacement wheels. Cost was around $45.

I would have to raise that seat & modify it. Probably add also Hobie sidekicks for stability. I'm 6' 240 lbs. Great mods though & video.

I'm 5' 11" 260. I added a 2x4 to raise the back of the seat. It ended up being too tippy. Then I ripped the 2x4 in half. That gave me enough of a rise without compromising stability.

What happened to the seat riser?the board you put on.

It made the kayak less stable so I ripped it in half so it is only 1 3/4" tall. Raises it just enough and keeps most of the stability.

They are replacement wheels for a C-Tug cart. Found them on Amazon.

Why don't you create a "docking station" that you could set the crate on. It could raise it up enough that the wheels wouldn't touch the kayak.

I have holes drilled near the top of the crate to hold the axle and wheels when on the water. It may be hard to see but the wheels are about 3 inches away from the top of the kayak.

@@g-wolfoutdoors8150 my thinking was to get a 2nd crate so that yours sits on it. Raises it a few inches. Then you won't need to ever take the wheels off. Get some bungee chord with hooks to attach them. If that makes since.
