Watching this actually makes me so emotional for this period in England and even earlier (2006 I moved to London and lived in England until 2016). It was a truly awesome time, the bands and artists that rose to the top of charts weren't crass slutty female rappers and male rappers rapping about gang violence and sex, it was great rock bands, great britpoprock and female singers like Adele, Lily, Amy (RIP), Kate Nash, Duffy, etc. Artists that didn't strip down to next to nothing. They did it for the love of music. If you love these british artist from the 2000s to early 2010s but didn't experience it living in England, you'll never fully get all the references and how these artists captured the zeitgeist of English culture. We know and we love.

This is the biggest bunch of rose tinted glasses bullshit ive ever seen. There was loads of shite songs back then too and songs about sex partying. Also funny how you single out rap as the downfall of music but praise lots of white female artists. Cant help but feel this comment has racist undertones to it. Guess what? Lily loves rap music (she has made that clear in many interviews) and theres still plenty of great music out there that belongs to every genre (yes including rap!)
