@emncaity BTW, she recovers well from the OTT move by holding back the rotary movement of the shoulders rather than dragging the arms and club through _with_ the shoulders (as many overextenders would do). She stays nicely contained into the downswing. Some great players have been slightly OTT--Snead and (particularly the young) Nicklaus--but then, Nicklaus had some of the best ballstriking years of his life (early '80s) when he concentrated on containing the shoulders on the downswing.

she's not over the top, it just looks that way because she takes the club back on the inside in the backswing. It's a good swing!

@emncaity Also: I always used to tell a good young player that no great player ever had a perfect swing. I mean, Juli Inkster overextended on every full swing, and all it got her was a Hall of Fame career. For most of his career, Nicklaus had that exaggerated extension too. Too many young players worry too much about playing "perfect swing" and fail to realize that once you reach a certain level of ballstriking--which is never perfect--it's all about scoring on and around the greens.

Really fine setup and posture. First half of the backswing is nice extension, which then gets overdone, leading to a bit too much of a one-lever action on the downswing, not to mention a fractional over-the-top move (you can see the latter on the DTL shot, where the club has nowhere else to go because of the overemphasis on extension--look where the hands are at waist-high on the way back and on the way down, for instance) . But I'm sure she hits it solid a lot and can score around the greens.
