I'm so proud of Oli for not stopping when he accidentally started the chorus a few seconds early, rather choosing to pick it up once it actually started, it can be hard to keep everything perfectly accurate when singing live, so I'm proud of him for not stumbling when he made that little mistake.

That is Zedd’s fault cause he clearly forgot there’s an extra measure after the second pre-chorus. He started to fill in to the second chorus a measure before he should have totally confusing Oli.

A proof of that its live is at 2:30 because there he sings crawling at the wrong moment together with the audience and 3 seconds later he starts again with crawling at the right moment. That would not happen if he wasnt singing at all right? then you would not hear him start to early. I think that he did great wether he sang everything or most of it, he still sounded good and even if some parts were recorded he did actually sing it (maybe a day earlier).

The crowd heard him and the backing track together (very obvious if you analyze the live crowd videos), there are 2 separate sets of voices. The stream only heard the backing track, they didn't route his live vocals to the stream audio, probably because people would be hear 2 people singing and would catch on quick, especially if 1 vocal was terribly off and the other was pitch perfect. He used a pitch corrected back track, also extremely obvious, and he knew perfectly well he had a back track if was using in ear monitors. He does the same shit for every BMTH show.

How have I only just seen this ? I love Oli nearly as much as I love Chester. LP & BMTH were the 1st 2 bands that got me into this music at the start & when Chester passed my heart broke. The fact I'm still alive now is because of Chester but knowing he couldn't beat his demons is heartbreaking. I'm so proud of Oli with how far he has come by beating his demons & I'm pretty sure Chester would have been beaming with pride. RIEP Chester Bennington you were loved by so many & I know you will never be forgotten. Thankyou for being you 💜

No one can ever compete with Chester (especially not in a song that was made for his voice), but Oli did him justice.

So basically he had lip sync in the live stream but he didn’t needed it after all. You can notice some parts he actually sang were not in the livestream (you could listen there but not so loud) which kinda sucks for him cuz everyone is going to see the livestream recorded version and not how he actually sang. And I’m honestly surprised, he screamed better than I expected
@tu376
@tu376 7 жыл бұрын
vekinzb, to be honest even in this video some parts don't make sense (1.21 for example). He was definetely lipping, at least some parts.

Lucifer Is Hot As Hell lol at 1:21 he has his mic on his lips, how could he be lipping?
@tu376
@tu376 7 жыл бұрын
Pierfrancesco Poccianti when he says "my walls are closing in" he moves the mic away and then rises it again with no changes in sound. This could be very very good compression, but the same thing happens at 0.42 and more obviously at 0.50. So, since the live stream fed a loud backtrack and let his mic off, I'm pretty sure he was lipping at least some parts of the song and singing over the backtrack in others.
@tu376
@tu376 7 жыл бұрын
I forgot to say that at 0.50 he's clearly not singing but you can still hear his voice.

I’ve been a fan of BMTH since 2020. Just hearing him sing songs like Parasite Eve, and Obey tells me that he would’ve been incredible as the lead vocalist. Emily is good don’t get me wrong, but damn Oli is on a whole new level.

I am so sad people ruined that experience for Oli and the band. He was performing one of the most iconic LP songs after his idol passed away and peeps would not hesitate to tear him apart. That was not the right moment to do it. It never is.

Ive seen BMTH perform many times and they never once used playback. But just because it was a live stream, producer's often use playback regardless of the artists choice to keep quality sound over televised performances. It's basic practice. I know oli well enough that he's a great singer and performer.
