I first came here before i learned english, about 5y ago. Little wing (SRV version) was my introduction to playing blues. Those original licks are incredible and really really versatile. I could fool all my friends into thinking i was a blues master, just by replicating these licks over any 12 bar that came around. I always played (and am now playing) along with this backing track with my "axe" tuned down to Eb. I think this is the first time I've really read the text at the start of the video. I'm definitely going to try the challenge of playing it in standard tuning. I thank you, the creator, very much. This track has given me very much joy. Play along, guys. After some years of going about this, I'd say that this is as much fun as you can get outside of the studio. Get a set of friends to play something like this with you asap. You won't regret it.

I'm just learning how to use the pentatonic scale, and learning this song as well. But you adding the maj2, and b6 to the appropriate chords on the changes, holy shit man thank you! I never thought about adding in those notes. Thank you for showing me how the pros would do it. I LOVE the backing and and those sexy chord diagrams you have up there. Gorgeous.

You putting these backing tracks up and allowing me to plug in and just go and let loose (knowing where to go with your handy tabs ) has really helped me kepp myself together thank you and keep it up.

Nice backing track but is it just me or does this need to be silent untill whoever is playing finishes the intro??, cuz when i here the srv version, its just only guitar for the intro before the rythem section kicks in and who wants to play this song without doing the most recognizable intro for this song.
@fortMattari7 жыл бұрын
Renzo, thanks for this and all your tracks! In tribute to Tom Petty it'd be sweet if you could put together some tracks inspired by his "Good Enough" and "The Trip to Pirates Cove" off of Mojo album. Thanks for helping beginners like me to realize our dreams of learning how to play and feel the music. -Matt

So if (to put it simply) this song is in the key of Em(Ebm), having the relative major of G does this mean throughout this backing track I can use A Dorian, B Phrygian, C Lydian etc? Need somebody to clarify am self teaching through KZbin videos and not sure what I can use outside of the pentatonic from the 5th and 12th fret (root on e string) and I’m finding it difficult wrapping my head around the modes
@nowyoushred7 жыл бұрын
First of all, I would not approach this tune modally per se. I would either simply play E minor pentatonic over the whole thing, or I would play to each chord in a Jimi kind of way, especially on the turn around section at the end, the part that goes GFCD.

when is it he best to play with the b6 ( aeolian mode ) ? I know that on a minor IV it uunderline the minor 3th of that chord .. but is there other good way to use it ?
@nowyoushred8 жыл бұрын
Use the b6 on any chord that has it (on the Abm, Cb, Fb) or also just as a quick little ornament (like a hammer-on or quick bend) on any of the chords!
