Honored to be part of the intro of this vid!!! I know you're only joking but it's actually not the Professor who tells you when you can't use key items in RSE. It's Norman, the player's father and 5th Gym Leader which is a really great touch considering the games set in Hoenn are the only ones in which the player has an in-game father character so it's cool for them to shake up the message to better connect the player to Norman. The full quote is as follows: "DAD's advice... , there's a time and place for everything!"

Every time I see videos like this, I get so frustrated because of how *criminally* under-appreciated pokemon channels. You have the most amazing and unique hunts, from this one, to Manaphy, to all of the roamers, to FRLG Safari zone Chansey, etc. Whereas more popular channels just watch people ride around and hatch eggs for 8 hours straight. I know you don’t necessarily do it for the subs and it’s more about your enjoyment, but seriously, this channel is amazing. Congrats to 50k man, happy to be a part of it.

There is one shiny that can compete with wailord for the title of rarest shiny of Hoenn, the 1% Quagsire in the emerald only safari zone area. You can repel trick it just like Wailord and instead of bunny hoping on the water you can swim against the small waterfall there to not use up any step, and it's the exact same encounter rate as wailord. The biggest difference between the two is that you can fail Quagsire since it's in the safari zone, but I think what really makes Quagsire the rarest Hoenn shiny at the moment is that no ever did this hunt. Edit : as it was corrected to me, swimming against a waterfall does count steps for the safari zone, but it does not count steps for repels in Gen 3 though (it does count i Gen 2)

@@BeatingBros Oh yes you're right, I didn't know about it, it does not count for repel though. I know someone who did a spreadsheet about all the possible hunts you can do while running against a waterfall and he forgot to include the safari zone one so I suggested he added it. I didn't test it myself but I figured it would work but since he wrote on the spreadsheet that it did count step for the safari zone I suppose it does. at least it allows you to do your encounters while just pressing a single button.

I totally get the appeal of getting a fully evolved Shiny in the wild. This wasn't the result of a hunt, but I ended up getting a Shiny Dodrio in the Safari Zone in Emerald some time ago, totally thought I was gonna fail it, didn't have Pokéblocks, don't even know the trick with those, and yet I still caught it. One of the absolute favorites of my Shiny collection.

The timing of this shiny… Its the same as when Mercury passes its retrograde shadow. Mercury would have passed a point in space at the same time this shiny appeared, but went retrograde, so it will reach this point November 3rd instead.
