40 years ago today. I was an 11 year old Blackpool fan who attended my first game at Wembley with my Stoke supporting dad and 18 year old Utd fan elder brother. Dad (RIP) and I were in the seats opposite the royal box. My bro was in the Liverpool end and was pretty safe due to the amount of mancs in with the scousers. It was one of the best days of my life. I didn't support either team, so could enjoy the game as a neutral. I treasure days like these that I spent with my old fella.

If anyone deserved a Knighthood for his contribution it was Shanks- he actually got an OBE as did Bob. Paisley was a very good and modest man but Ferguson's achievements far outweigh Paisleys. Ferguson BUILT clubs and teams. Look what he did @ a comparatively small club in Aberdeen against the might (in those days) of the Old Firm. Back then Glasgow Rangers( the richest club in Europe) could have bought and sold both Manchester United and Liverpool. He then went on to win trillions of trophies @ Manchester United. Does anybody notice that player in the white shirt his is the no.3 shirt puts his arms in the air in celebration for ALAN KENNEDY'S GOAL.LOL.BOB PAISELY SHOULDVE GOT A KNIGHTHOOD BEFORE ALOT OF THE ARROGANT MANAGERS & PLAYERS. GREAT RESULT.. I MUST SAY BRUCIE SHOULDVE BEEN SENT OFF 100% FOR HIS FOUL ON GORDON MCQUEEN. THE WHITE SHIRTS FOR ME WAS THE 2ND BEST LOOKING FOOT BALL KIT AND SO WAS THE WHITE SHIRTS IN THE 1988 3 ALL DRAW AT ANFIELD.John Motson INFORMATIVE BUT NOT FAIR .NB on many occasion never mentioned Ronnie Whelan EG 2passes 1 for each of the PASSES TO Aldo & BARNES 87 -88 SEASON 4-0 QPR in alot of significant passes. Thats what puts me off motty on too many occasions for me. Surprised he give Ronnie a mention for the goal. BARRY DAVIES MARTIN TYLER ALAN PARRY ALAN GREEN FOR ME IS FAIRER. I LOVE THE REDS OF ANFIELD.

Arsenal had more league title's than man. united back then, and man. united only had one champion's league, so man. united couldn't have been second best.
