Really interesting, thanks. It was very useful to see the issues you encountered. Andy

I have been doing some live streaming lately. I use three GH5's and a Panasonic HPX 270. I was renting the BMD ATEM broadcast unit but now I own the ATEM Mini Pro. It was interesting to see your set up.

Did you find a better way Gerald? I'm all ears. I think I'll be adding more of the same camera. Probably another CX350 although maybe a PTZ. Need to do some research. The GH5S in particular often gets me out of trouble with a beautiful image in low light

Perfect video ! My question is what is the maximum length and type of hdmi cable (GH5 to ATEM) ? Thank you !
@EventVideo4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I recommend the optical fibre based HDMI cable often called AOC (Active Optical Cable). The limit for a normal cable is 15m which in practice is not that far. For an AOC cable you can run for 50m. Alternatives are SDI (more expensive but reliable) and you convert. For the GH5 you'd need a converter at each end which isn't really that practical so I think the AOC cable is your best bet

Nice job on matching the three cameras. If you used Cinelike D on the Gh5 what were you using on the cx350?

Good job getting good colors, did you customize the CinemaD profile on the 5s?
@EventVideo4 жыл бұрын
St Margaret Mary's - I think I did a quick colour correction in post on this to be honest. I should adjust it but probably the gh5 is worse as it has a well know magenta hue.

what is the software used on your computer to live stream?
@EventVideo5 жыл бұрын
I switched. Originally I used Wirecast (cost $699) from Telestream but it was struggling to see the ATEM mini so I went back to OBS which is free. It’s a great tool to get started with

Which output setting do you use for GH5? Avchd or mp4? Bitrate and framerate? I have same combination and output from gh5 little bit "jams", but output from gopro and Bmpcc4k is fluent. Thank you
@EventVideo4 жыл бұрын
Jams? Hmmm I've not seen that. I always use MOV because I'm a mac fanboy (although that might change with all this streaming!). Sounds to me like you might have your settings too high. I would go FHD 100Mbps 8 bit on the GH5 and for Twitter (which is this example) 30fps. If you have your settings too high it could be your card that's causing the issue, but equally you may have a faulty HDMI cable. Worth switching them around to see. I've had a few die on me over the years

How do you sync audio and video when cameras have different latency? Gh5 latency is quite high for us.
@MafraTVportugal4 жыл бұрын
:D kkkkkkk
@EventVideo4 жыл бұрын
Latency is typically 7 frames over HDMI with the GH5. You can add 150ms in the broadcast software you're using but doing it per camera is tricky. There is also an app that helps you synchronise audio and video. I tried to make everything else the same even down to the HDMI cable length and type (I prefer the optical fibre HDMI). Now that the ATEM Mini Pro ISO is out I'd rather upgrade to that and see if they are doing any syncing although I suspect it's only for Black Magic cameras. Finally if your sync varies between cameras just have one for close up and keep the others a bit wider. Focus on the close shot for sync. Most people won't notice the lack of sync on the wider shot.

Are you using Atem to stream or OBS ?
@EventVideo4 жыл бұрын
This app as the original ATEM mini so OBS but now you can use the ATEM Mini Pro to stream direct.

how long your HDMI cable from GH5 to ATEM ?
@EventVideo4 жыл бұрын
5m or may have been 10m. If you want to go longer look at "Optical HDMI" which can run up to 100m
