Jared, you'll likely never see or read this comment but I just want to say thank you. Your videos and insights have truly brought my trades to the next level. Probably the next THREE levels. Keep up the good work my man. It doesn't go unappreciated. 🤘
Another very educational, timely video that I will be watching more than once. I learn something from every one of your videos. I now have a plan for entry point and stop loss that I stick with, no more lowering my stop loss in hopes to save a trade. Canceled my orders for a supply of hopeium :-). I stopped swearing at the charts, now I let the charts "talk to me" and I am starting to understand their language. All my trades are entered into my spreadsheet and journal. Being a newbie and trading with a small account by some standards a daily amount is set for trading. Once that amount is invested no matter what chance for a buy comes along I pass. I have learned that if you fail to plan you plan to fail and that pigs go to market - hogs go to slaughter. Keep the videos coming as the learning continues ! Thumbs up - bell rung
Thank you for the only valuable free lessons out there no fluff no ps just pure educational info, keep up the good work.👍🏽

Got back into trading last year like a lot of people. Took me almost the whole year to get back to being consistently profitable. Your videos helped (and continue to help) me beat concepts I had forgotten into my head after a 3 year hiatus from the markets. Just hit a losing streak last week and this lecture hit the spot thanks!
Your videos is helping me since I luckily discovered this chanel. Kombination of knowlege in combination with inspiration and encouragement is not second to any other chanel I have seen so far. Please keep up this invaluable educational source. many thanks.

You remind me my strict professor of Thermodynamics Applied to Machines I had at university in Italy; he used to say "most of you will repeat this class a couple of times, some of you maybe will quit Mechanical engineering within 1 year." Until you don't beat your face against something that hurts a lot, you'll keep doing the wrong thing (or wrong career).

Thanks again Jared, a real good lecture!! Very helpfull for us beginners. Especially the fear of failing is very hard to overcome. It comes in little steps; simulator goes better and better, but to do it live is difficult. When I trade on the simulator, I can manage my trade according the rules, but live all the skills seems to be disappeared.

I have watched ton of traders' videos but you are the man! you have been boosting up my trading energy ever since I found you. I am riding on my momentum. I have learnt a lot of things from you by watching 100+ hours of your videos. Simply love them.
One setup, look for stocks selling off on the close ahead of earnings after the close. On the open look for the stock to hold the low of the range and undercut the pre market low but finds support. Trade it one a 1 min TF and enter on the first higher low that holds. That's the short version.

FEAR! thats the one thing currently I am trying to deal with, not able to take a single trade out of fear of loosing the trade. Ahh! I pretty much seat watching stock going the same direction I thought of it would with the analysis, but yet..seating out and not taking trades just out of FEAR....not sure how I am going to get over with it..
On the second chart, I don't see the point of taking the trade, as it hasn't crossed the trendline or MA, it reached a lower low instead of a higher high and I'll add that the volume in the change of color bar didn't surpass a single bar in the 4 days prior, telling me buyers aren't confident in buying at that price. And if you use a 200 MA with 50 EMA, you'd probably notice a cross of death forming right there, signaling to sell.

BIDU 4/20 chart. So if you are looking at SPY you see on the chart is downtrending. Would BIDU have gone higher if the market wasn't weak but doubtful. However, irrespective of the market there were signs there beyond engulfing patterns that this wasn't a long. Let's start with the fact that that volume bar(10:09AM) corresponding to that engulfing candle is not even bigger than the volume bar for the prior 3 min candle. So we can't say that we had a push on big volume cause it didn't happen. Second there is support at around $209 that broke on much heavier volume. The support now becomes resistance. This support can be seen on the prior day 4/19 at around 2PM as well. What happens at 10:12AM candle immediately after the big green bar? Price tests that resistance level and stuffs. Tests again at 10:27AM and 10:30AM all fail at that area of resistance. Also, those 10:27AM and 10:30AM volume were the lowest since the open and that is a big no no. If you use MA's this stock is below the 50 MA so not conducive to a long. Nothing supports a long on this stock: the own stock's price action and volume tell you that without having to look at SPY. Tell-tale signs of a drop or going lower was in the chart all along.

Even if a stoploss setup at 80 for TIRX doesn't help. On that day, when it crashed, there is no trading between 80 and 48.52. The best price to fill for a stop market order is 48.52 and there is only 700 shared traded on the 1 minute bar (range from 48.52 to 44.65). Sure, it is better than no stoploss setup.

I've found that when people say "they want to learn about trading"... They actually mean "I just want money"... Not that they actually care abiut anything related to learning about economics, finance, investing, technicals or charting. They want the outcome with none of the work.

Sometimes a sudden selloff skips your stop loss altogether, so how does a stop loss help in these scenarios? This happened to me once, and skipped the whole stop loss and lost my whole trade as it got to less than a $1. After that, it started going back up, but my money was already "stolen." I say stolen because I had a 20c stop loss but the price dropped suddenly $5 on me skipping the stop-loss and taking the money. So the stop loss actually worked against me because I would have preferred if I ended up being a bag holder over losing the whole trade whole I was risk managing, meaning it wasn't my fault.

Hey Jared at 20 min into video whether you should add or not wouldn't another factor to consider is the double kiss off of the resistance line, if you look left all the way to beginning of shown chart doesnt that show resistance and then it retest that same resistance line again before you consider teadding.
"CAN trade w/o stop losses IF you limit the risk in any one trade !!! a 90% of 10% is 9%.. of 5% would have lost ONLY 4.5%.. but to have your entire portfolio on the line w/o a stop.. WOW !!! THAT is a lesson that WILL BE REMEMBERED.. "" ..

Hello , on BIDU trade your question is whether you go long or not. I see that wide igniting green bar. The next bars after the green igniting bar should have stayed closer to top 1/3 of igniting bar but following bars retrace 2/3 of igniting . That is one important reason not to take a long trade. Would you not agree ? BTW, you are a stud and thank you !
Thank you 🙏 for these valuable contents which you share with all of us 👍👍 #Love #It

7:19 WKHS, DISCA, VIAC, EH are some stocks that did a similar thing. I actually traded WKHS myself and took a small loss on the day when it tanked. Stop losses Matter!
People are afraid of being wrong. They are afraid of being wrong because they don't know how much they will get damaged when they are wrong. They don't know how much they will get damaged because they don't know how to calculate risk while the chart is moving.

28:00 Its not a good long idea for the following reason: Without having too much data on the left, it looks like that the market is in a downtrend and a strong sell off took place, indicated by this double top situation with 3 topping tails and momentum engulfing bearish candles forming a supply zone. Secondly this slightly red bottoming candle marks a lower low, representing that the market is probably in the beginning of a downtrend. Why you want to take a long trade into such a strong resistance and a market that printed a lower low already? Your narrative is definitely incorrect for this specific market situation.
I shorted GameStop via put from around 400 to 100 with a strike of 390 back when and only made like 50$..... Had something to do with them shutting off open interest. It was crappy, lol
I've been doing this for six weeks now and I've reached the stage where I'm totally nerding out on charts. Is that normal? Me and a buddy literally were reviewing a chart today and damn near discussing this same topic...
You keep saying "use the stop loss" but for us folks constrained by ridiculous PBT rule that's almost impossible. I can buy 2 stocks a day at most and set the stop loss and if they both happen to trigger, I'm pretty much out of luck for five days. Any comments on that?
This vid is just what I need... had 3 wonderful green months this year and then April. Boom! On a losing streak. My Traderview graph literally looks like a bull flag pull back right now. Lol 😂
everyday i watch his videos, and others videos on how to understand candlesticks, patterns etc.. then after i stop, i open up a chart and im completely blank like i learned nothing :( wtf is going on. its way too difficult..feel like giving up..
Only thing I disagree with is removing all emotions from the decision-making process. Humans are emotional creatures. We cannot remove emotions. We can only recognize, accept and work with it. When the market is falling like a rock and your system triggers to buy, how can you not have any emotions? Isn't it better to say I'm scared to death but I'm going to take this trade because my system says so and I believe in my system.

market has been choppy over the last month? WTF? The market has been horrible since the crash of 2020. I will wait till some form of calm before I try trading again.
I think the idea that anyone can be a trader is wrong. If you cant tolerate losses, if you are impatient, if you cry during every movie, trading is not for you
Fear is the game. That's why Bulls take the escalator and Bears take the lift. Using a stop loss may be death by a thousand cuts for the uneducated trader, but you could be in it long enough to learn before you blow your account.
Turning 2 grand in to 30 grand is dumb luck, but turning 100k to 1 million isn't? Its all luck. You have to be in front of the markets everyday to experience the luck i suppose. Traders don't want to admit this.

So someone who is consistently profitable for decades is lucky? I guess Warren Buffet is just lucky too...Peter Lynch, Charlie Munger etc...There is NOTHING lucky about a consistently profitable trader. Period. This isn't some 'buy GME, yolo way to make money.' Go make $30k, $500 at a time, or $1mil, $5k at a time and then say it's luck... ;-)
@vegancheetah3 жыл бұрын
@@Live.Traders maybe luck is the wrong word, perhaps divine favor is more like it. 😉 but seriously, the more we expose our selves to the market the more probable it is we will have good winning trades. If we don't take trades then the probablitly is zero. So the probability increase from being in front of the markets is like the luck. In other words, the grocery store clerk that is not in the market has no luck because hes not in the market.
@genztrader63613 жыл бұрын
@@vegancheetah luck is random chance, walking across a busy street and not being hit by a car is lucky ? No. The chances of getting hit by a car are low. If the chances were 90% that you would get hit by a car and you walk across the street without dying, that is lucky! Therefore luck is only defined by the odds. If the odds in your trading system is very low, you are lucky if you hit targets. So I wonder, if the system gains more of an edge, then is it lucky that over time an account grows?
