Your comment is a contentious reply to something sincere. Which makes sense given the ones who spear-headed the reformed protestant movement were very continuous and coarse in their style of debating and writing; not showing anything patterned after the apostles or any of the saints. I pray Christ shows mercy on you and brings you to a true knowledge of Himself and the rock He built the church on that the gates of hell will not prevail against, because it surely isn't the protestant spirit which was even more recent than the spilt of Rome from the Orthodox Church in 1054.

This is very encouraging to me, because in my own sphere (the classical music world), the spirit of secularism, and then passing over into overt paganism and antichrist, is rampant today, and something which was such an expression of beauty, and was so imbued with Christian assumptions, has been almost completely subverted. But God created music, and we Christian artists (I'm not talking about "Christian Contemporary Music here) need to REASSERT ourselves, stop just recreating the artifacts of the past, but actively compose new classical music, operas, symphonies, etc. Think about how many fantastic operas there are, just WAITING to be composed, based on a Christian understanding of the history of the last two-thousand years! How many operas have been written to tell the story of the thousand-year Eastern Orthodox empire? I can't think of one. So there are tremendous opportunities for Orthodox Christian composers to tell the story, using all artistic means: painting, music, film, etc. Think of the VOLUMES AND VOLUMES of lives of the saints...what a treasure trove of material just waiting to be retold using every means possible.

Some further dating advice. Find a partner that you see the fruits of the spirit in and also be that person for them. I have no rizz at all but I got into a healthy relationship solely because I was the only one that showed those kinds of traits to her. She was also only a Christian because of a random classmate asked to pray for her and asked if she was ok when her best friend had “intentionally died.” Nobody else at school did that for her and only laughed at her distressed behavior while mourning. South Cal public schools so everyone thought praying for her was stupid. It helped her a lot. Go the extra mile to be compassionate for nothing in return. It changes lives.

9:00 As a Baptist myself (Ref. Baptist) I can definitely see what you mean by the shallowness of evangelical Christian culture in universities. Trust me, the more intellectual or 'reformed' Baptists aren't a fan of seeing it either and are aware of its ineffectiveness in today's university world. At my university (UK, southern England) there are a lot of Christians and the situation is similar here, they generally profess faith and are mostly genuine believers. But the presentation of Christianity that a lot of them would have is often rather watered down or even liberal. (Not all, but many.) At any Christian Club meeting, you can see this in what many of their actions or what they believe about the world. (many support the LGBTQ for example, with pronouns in their bios, or support night-clubbing and partying, and I have heard others there say would rather read the Message Bible than a more traditional translation). Meanwhile, the Baptist church I chose to attend here is much more clear-cut and uncompromising in both teaching and practice, but there are very few students or people my age who have come there, because almost all of them have gone to the more watered-down Baptist/Evangelical/Non-Denominational churches nearby, where you would dress casually on a Sunday, and where even showing up at all is considered optional and not a necessity. I don't look down on them, in fact I have made many good Christian friends here, but I do wish a lot of them were more conservative and held to more 'reformed' doctrine, principles, and culture, as well as a more intellectual and advanced understanding Christianity and not just sticking to the sheltered level they were raised with and the passive type of preaching they attempt to do. Just throwing it out there, a lot of Baptists aren't happy at the increasing liberalism or complacency in our denom either, including in worldly institutions!
