Dewayne, I'm 10 years your senior. I had my dream of owning my own land in the late 1970's. I didn't get there until 2003, it took all that I had and was only the bare bones of it all. I love trees, they are my life so I planted woodland. I have firewood and building wood now. I experiment with natural build ideas, and now the media is getting interested. And I'm STILL moving the goalposts! Chase the dream 👍

@@BigGirthyJohnson I actually really appreciate this, growing up in the tech age it’s taught people of my age (20) that if you’re not out there you don’t exist. Really good life advice. Something I've seen is people's marital status changes or they have kids, and feel the dreams have to go out the window. Part of the issue is we are trained in public school to be a pawn on some chessboard we aren't controlling, and it's all in the realm of we have to think outside the box that was painted around us, and shoot... if one's family status changes, incorporate that into the dreams you have or things you enjoy doing. If you have kids, teach them about it and let them be part of it too. If they take interest in it, you'll have extra encouragement and reason to keep heading toward whatever the goal is. Far as "what ifs...", we don't know what tomorrow's got in store, we can't be fretting over tragedies, no matter how imminent or obscure they may be... just do what we can while we can and don't quit until we are on the other side of life.

Hi Dwayne! Thank you for your insight. I’m only 24, but at times I feel like the circumstances in the world hold me back from achieving my goals so I become desperate as if I’m never gonna get there. Also some people try to make you afraid of your dreams or doubt them (even when there intentions are good, for example my relatives hope that I won’t return to my home country because of some financial/safety reasons, even though I don’t like living abroad and miss my country). We all need to understand that sometimes we or our surroundings have limiting beliefs and it doesn’t mean that these thoughts are reflections of reality. These are JUST thoughts. We ourselves create our own reality by our choices and actions. So stay true to yourself and never let anyone ruin your vision. Good luck everyone!

Such words of wisdom! He is 1000% right!! I had dreams and was living it for a while, but things change for the worse sometimes. Now i just exist daily, it seems like with no purpose. I've been married for over 31 years, and now it's not working out. We both have changed into 2 different people, which i feel do not belong together anymore. I dont have a loving family at all. My best love is my Chihuahua. He is definitely God sent. He's the one keeping me here. I just want to live whatever time i have left in peace, that's all. I learned that life doesn't turn out like one has hoped. 😢

This is something I took for granted for a long time; just living the drudgery of life with escapism into unhealthy habits. Then one day on my way to work, in the job I hated, about 12 years ago, when I was just approaching 40, the question " what the hell am I doing with my life" blurted out of my mouth just before I stepped into the office. I was stunned. I still haven't found my way, because I was lost for a long time, trying different things. I left the job a year later and haven't been able to step into a permanent job since. Just agency work which has paid me as much or sometimes better than the previous job; and offers me more flexibility, while I try to figure stuff out. Currently learning a tech skill with the aim of getting a semi-decent wage in order to get myself out of the accommodation rut I'm in while living in the capital city, where the cost of living is starting to punish people. I had no concept of this earlier than 40, because, I think I was just walking around in a mind fog. I was also in a cult most of my adult life, one which focused on getting ready for some future promise fulfilment and dissuaded fixing your current life, and especially pursuing dreams.

Helps me a lot to listen to you. So I got married many years ago had horses. Was born with horses always thought I would have horses. So when we got married the wife said you got 2 Choices we can buy the farm or we have children what little did I know that children will cost as much as the farm. We had one child that was born premature. So had to sell the horses couldn't afford no more, but I kept my saddle cause I believe in the dream. Long story short , Started a little leather company on the side. That keeps me in close contact with the smells and the sound. The hope one day would be that it'll take off and help to add to the financial gain to be able to get the property to have the horses again. And you want it so bad but you gotta celebrate the little victories along the way. But I gotta tell you I appreciate you because my stepdad had passed many years ago and he was my go to guy to just talk. I know I can certainly listen to you. Thank you From bottom my heart

I am happy for you and your family's success, and I hope your school has an excellent year! As for my dream: just to be a good man. It's simple. It sure ain't easy, though. It might just be the hardest thing a man can do. But after a lot of time, effort, mistakes, self-discovery, soul-searching, reading, learning, exploring, etc., that's the one thing that I want most out of my life. It always comes back to me, no matter how long I am distracted by base and silly things. It may take all my life to achieve this dream. But if I can say that in the moment before I die that I have lived a truly good life - a life in which I have rarely brought shame to my soul, and have, for the most part, lived to the greatest potential of man - then that's good enough for me. I can die fulfilled. Thank you for your time and wisdom.

There is also the philosophy of the mastery approach. You find your calling, pursue it with passion, and believe growth is unlimited. You are open to about anything along the way. You are always looking for new opportunities and see a purpose in a majority of things. Goals and dreams can be limiting. That's a lesson I've learned. I respect your perspective and I believe goals and dreams are important. Especially in our younger years when it's more about success and accomplishment vs. fulfillment and significance.

Hey Dwayne, today i just turned 24 years old, i was never told by anyone like you to never give up, my father wasnt there much involved just working for no purpose other than to raise a dysfunctional family i was never belonged in or let to have my own dream or help me find it or how to even for some purpose to still look or search for a reason to keep living , i didn't want to be miserable forever and old like him and others my body worn down being in a tired depressing state as a car assembly line worker and live a uneventful unfulfilling life doing nothing like he has. I have a dream(s) now... it makes me happy to see this finally and my purpose to make out of this one life i get, this one thing we all experience called life, i want to become a professional welder even underwater welding which although i know skilled trades are tough on my body phsyically and especially how dangerous the risks are to my health so its a tough thing to consider if i want to do this but its big enough i believe i can do it, i can learn to weld and dive i also want to teach and be a motorcycle safety instructor or welding teacher, help bring awareness i enjoy working on cars and motorcycles, i have lots of interests in many things so its hard to just decide on something for a career to make out of it but if you love what you do you wont work a day in your life. if you havent tried something before how can you know if you are good at it or not but i struggled with this for awhile i also found i love teaching i want to be a teacher or mentor and encourage others who struggle with mental health and what stops them from rolling out of bed i wish i had something i can teach people that are in my position now and before i never had someone to teach me the things in life i needed so thank you for coming into mine and helping me when i need to ask or seek help i cant figure everything out on my own life like my fathers unrealistic expectations of me of doing what he wants me to on my own. so that part of college and school being at certain points of life everyone is going at a different course and pace down the path of life, your swimming in the river flow with it dont swim back up against it . dont fight life be patient. i don't want to die im scared of the future. that part dying on the road going towards my dream hit hard. this hit very hard . Im having some sort of purpose now to be here, to feel less afraid with accepting death someday for me. i feel behind like lots people seem to get wrapped up in thinking and comparing their life to someone elses. only focus on yours. thank you again Dwayne. sorry for poor grammar i throw my thoughts together around real quick haha

My wife and I both quit our professional, high-paying day jobs 35 years ago and set out on a new adventure; something we knew nothing about except the technical aspects. We started our own business. We were both in our late 30’s with 2 young kids! Would you believe that everyone thought we were crazy! But the thing that brought us together, how we met, and that was our true passion took hold of us. So we set out to build a martial arts business and believe me it was crazy tough. But we kept at it through the highs and the very lows (hurt and divorce actually came up at one point-luckily we overcame that). We now have a highly successful school and as with you, we have helped raise so many successful kids and changed so many adults lives through martial arts training. We also have bought and own our own building, a dream we had for 30 years. We are both 67 and people ask us when we are gonna retire. I tell them we retired 35 years ago! We’ll teach till we die!…because we want to fulfill our dream. Love your talks. I’m an avid listener and I share your wisdom with my students. P s La Aurora is made by the Fuentes! By the way, I live in Maryland but I’m Kentucky born & bred!

Great video Dwayne thank you . I can relate. I got sidetracked from my dream for seven years. Felt trapped and no way out. Stuck in a job I could not stand ! then I saw an opportunity and it got me out. I was finally free doing something I like. I could do things towards my dream again and it was a silver lining I had to go through it ! I’ve had many stumbling blocks on the way. But now I’m back on the horse. In a matter of speaking I’m not a horse guy . Although I did ride when I was very young had an uncle out in Washington state had a ranch. Love horses. Any way You can’t give up & when you’re moving shit gets in your way. Keep going no matter what that’s my motto. I’m 58 not there yet, so I die on the road. At least I tried. Thats my plan Stan. It’s been 22 years chasing that dream I’ll never give up, God bless happy Easter Dwayne . Mark from NY State . ✌️22:23

Hello from Deadwood, SD! You guys aren't that far from me now! Welcome to the West! You will love it! I lived in Sheridan years ago and went to Junior High there. The winters can be challenging at times but overall totally worth it! 😊

You guys passed by my home area, I hope old York, NE treated you well. Honestly I'm glad such a huge inspiration of mine navigated through the place where I learned to navigate life. You have given so much hope this year, especially during what I felt was the hardest winter of my life. Thank you so much for helping me find the hope to chase my dream and firm up my discipline again.

Thank you Dewayne I really liked this. Sometimes the dream I have seems impossible. But I know God didn't give it to me without giving me also the resources to make it happen. It's like I've seen the life exactly that I've wanted to live for years and even though I often feel like giving up if i don't see immediate results I know my future self is urging me to keep going. Finding your channel is a blessing and what you say is really powerful and helpful. God bless what you and your wife Deanna are doing, it's awesome that your dream has come true! Angel blessings from Precious Sweetheart - yes that's my real name, I changed it legally in 2019 for my spiritual journey!

Your message here made me think of Stephen King’s Dark Tower series. Specifically the line “May you find your Tower, Roland, and breach it, and may you climb to the top!”. Any DT fans here? Highly recommend this series. Through 7 insane books we follow the gunslinger, Roland, on a seemingly endless and hopeless mission to find the Dark Tower, defeat the Crimson King, and save the Universe; a dark western fantasy that only King could write. We all have our own Tower that we need to find, climb, and conquer; or, as you said, die on the road.

Dewayne, I hope you feel a sense of at least partial accomplishment in terms of fulfilling your dream of teaching others. I have moments where I’m lost in my emotions, don’t know what to do next, and the advice offered in your videos often remedy my confusion. I thank you for that. At some point, hopefully in the not so distant future, I would love to meet you and attend the school. The few times I have ridden horses it has been a blast and a special memory. horsemanship is not only useful, but intriguing and dignified. Thanks again.
