Kid has great form, and great power for his size! Cool video! ONLY critique is that he needs to manage the stress/pressure a bit better (not saying that because he didn't bowl the 300, you could just tell based on his body language before/after every shot). I'm sure that will improve with time, but that is something important to practice for sure :)

300s are nice - a good achievement but the very best bowlers are those who are consistent week in and week out and are good spare shooters. I feel 300 is like a bonus. Spares and doing clean games to me are more important. I've bowled with some really good PBA regional players and these cash all the time and some have never bowled an 800 set. I have also seen prolific 300 house shooters that have a hard time on PBA conditions. They may have 30-40 300 games in a region but when it comes to hard conditions, they fail because all they want is the house shot. The BEST bowler is that who does not practice the house shots but rather do each game from each arrow regardless - to try to be consistent. Let's take a 4 game block. Bowler "A" shoots a 300 to the amazement of the crowd. (200-300-200-190) . His final set is 890. Bowler "B" the guy who does not do really high scores but is consistent shot (230-230-220-220) 900. High game was only 230 but he beat bowler "A" and advances. Spares and multi arrow practice are the keys that should be taught to every bowler. 300 games will come. The kids today all want to crank the hell out of the ball or be two handers etc to amaze others but when it comes to spares, they fail miserably for the most part. Someone needs to coach them the fundamentals and try to do their own game because what works for one may not work for another.

He pulled that one last second, he knew it and was still hoping, i could tell that really shouldn't strike. Well might have to do that a large number of times before those jitters go away because it is more routine, you know just yhrow down those last two smooth and good ones, and even then a pin can always hang. Need luck and experience to execute the shot right, if fears there still that's what happens. Even then there could always be a hanger, has to be your time too. I play pool not bowling but that what i think.

How I bowl two handed and I've bowled a 300 game doing it. I have a custom jersey but I only wear it when I go to tournaments. I carry around 4 balls with me and I try to bowl on sport patterns when they are available. I still practicing spares.

Although our league bowls on Saturday mornings on the house shot, we usually try to give the kids a sport pattern to practice on after league. We typically run two or three pairs of lanes with a sport pattern so they can bowl on it with some degree of regularity. Most (not all) of our PRODIGY BOWLERS TOUR shows (seen on this channel) are bowled on sport patterns.

Taylor Helms - The original Optimus and the Snap Lock look pretty much identical as far as colors. Red, white and blue. The logos, obviously, are different. And the ball reaction of the Snap Lock is stronger. I loved my Optimus. I shot 300 with it the day I got it. And then a couple of months later, I caught myself on video shooting 290 with it. (Seen elsewhere on this channel in a video called "Almost Perfect.")

He tried not bad for his age. But I disagree about it hard to get a 300 game. The reason abc stopped giving out rings for 300s is because with ball technology now it is much EASIER to roll 300 than it has ever been The weakest of wrist folks can do it. I’ve been bowling for almost 40 yrs. and at one point if u had a 300 in a season it was a miracle. Hell now they bowl then almost weekly in league

Look again. He was given the correct score, 289, in the 10th frame. His handicap of 9 pins (this was in league, remember?) was added on at the end to give him 298 with handicap. It's all correct.

@@FRFC2223 Handicap, which is based on average in this specific junior league. Each bowler has a handicap. 99% of all USBC sanctioned leagues, including junior leagues are handicapped. There are different types of handicap leagues. One where handicap is based on team average. This one was based on individual average. Each bowler's handicap is then added to form a total team handicap. Geesh...do you not know bowling at all? Edited to add: I guess the 174 and 195 are fake scores too since the first bowler received 2 pins handicap and the second bowler received 10.
