Thanks so much for putting this out there. I feel that my vocals are my weakest performance point. Flat or sharp notes, bad annunciation, etc. Your singer had these same issues, and the final result was stellar. Thanks for sharing. Give the rest of us some confidence.

Hey! When I try to record another vocal take (on the same channel like you’re doing (for comping later), I can hear the previous take in my headphones. How/why is that happening and how can I fix it? Many thanks!

Would it be an idea to freeze all the tracks to get a low buffer size for minimal latency for the singer?
@karlvonklein35665 жыл бұрын
Awesome videos-super helpful. Maybe I missed this detail, but could you you tell us about the Compressor (purpose and settings in this context) you have on the vocal track as you're recording, please?

Why don’t you use the auto colorizing feature in recording when you do multiple takes in the take folder? It makes it much easier to do your vocal comps
@MusicTechHelpGuy6 жыл бұрын
I guess I've never had any issue keeping track of my takes. I just look at the take number on the region.

Trust me it’s a very good tool to use when you’re doing vocal comps as much as I do

Just curious, why you didn’t use the low latency mode during the vocal recordings?

What if I already have the same vocal run already recorded on different tracks and wanted to turn them into one take folder to take advantage of the takes folder features like the swiping feature etc? is it possible to do that? thanks!
@MusicTechHelpGuy5 жыл бұрын
Select all the regions, right click > folder > pack take folder

It's awesome what you do, thank you so much. Question, it seems like the vocal recording is almost clipping at some point, is this safe? I'm fairly new at this and have seen other tutorials where they suggest keeping it lower..
@MusicTechHelpGuy5 жыл бұрын
Where is it almost clipping? There may be a few peak points that get a bit louder than the rest, but overall the vocals are hovering around -9dBFS.
