Brainbean a question; in previous testings, the romer G bottom out (g810) felt abit mushy to me. Is this still the case with this board/ Romer G linear? or is it similar to cherry bottom out ( nice and hard, no mush mush)

Daisudori I remember the old ones being mushy too. These both tactile and linear are not mushy when you bottom out. It’s a hard stop.

The good thing with the Logitech Software is that you can toggle the FN-key which means if u wanna use the media keys, u dont need to use both hands :) Litterly almost becomes dedicated media keys on such a minimalistic design. Im a huge fan of this! Kinda amazed no other brand does this, u basically a need third party program with other keyboard brands to do this.

Tjenaretjenaremannen I don’t care to have to use 2 hands lol. Kinda makes it so you don’t accidentally press a key like mute or something. And most streaming sites now use your spacebar and other keys to perform functions like pause etc anyways.

Tip: if you don't want a giant palm rest, get the 513 carbon, not carbon and silver. Only difference between the two is that one has a palm rest and the other doesn't. The carbon is cheaper by like $50.

Great video but slightly miss leading. As for macros. It does have a way that you can set up macros. Just have to use the program. You stated it does not have dedicated macro and media keys but then only state it has media keys via function key. So just want to clear it up that you still can set up macros. There is also a way thru the program that you can activate the function keys so that they can be pressed without using the fn key. So if watching movie or music and you rather use the fn keys you can. I have a blue switch one and my secondary and fn keys don’t light up. The main key does. So example, the 1 lights up but the ! does not. Not to big a deal and on some they do so not sure why the one I have does not. The F row keys also light up different colors with certain programs if you set it up to do so. For example, discord. It’s a voice chat. So if you are in a room talking with 3 other players (like a squad for pubg). Who ever is talking, the F row lights up a certain color. It even lights up for when you talk as well. Or if you get a message etc. It also has a gaming mode I believe fn+f8. That disables some lights as well as some keys like the windows key so that you don’t accidentally tap the key or so you don’t get distracted. The wrist rest is nice. However my desk space is very slick and it slides around for me. They should have added a way to attach it. Overall love it though. I am only using another keyboard (fnatic mini streak) over this due to size and space.

sort of It's wider, but cushion is about the same, leatherette feels a little more durable razer's feels kinda thin.

From my experience, the Logitech’s wrist rest is actually much better and comfortable compared to razer’s. Especially when gaming for long periods of time

Just bought the board but with the tactile feedback. I just don't like linear switches,that goes for Cherry MX as well. Good review. I can deal without the media keys.

Scorpio Gamer yeah don’t know why people need them. They are there. Just as a fn. so you have to press 2 buttons. Press and hold fn then the corresponding key. There is a way thru program to allow those keys (but then can’t use the f row keys) so that you don’t have to press and hold the fn key. Great if watching videos. But most sites allow the space bar to pause anyways. And I don’t pressing the fn key myself.

the best gaming keyboard possible for me: cherry switches IKBC MF chase full aliminium 2.5 kg ! Tkl layout. 5 macro keys on the left side. voulme wheel and media buttons to the left top corner. A usb passthrough. Leatherate memory foam wrist rest. Adjustable feet. Cable routes for headset cable. A software I can fully customize the macros an lightings. Pbt 2xshot keycaps. 10 key rollover and anti ghosting. With the rgb ofcourse. Type something that can beat it :p (I would pay 300$ if it was as I wanted)

So I know that this keyboard is $150, but the G413 (which I own and love) is $90 with no RGB and no wrist rest. So would you say the $60 premium is worth the RGB and the wrist rest? Great video btw.

You are using and older Software. Try using the newer Logitch G Hub. One thing it gave my G502 Spectruo(RGB) is Audio reactrive effect which was never there to begin with and that's a very welcome feature.. try it.

g810 also has the CapsLoak LED w/ RGB... all the LEDs in g810 are RGB.

You tend to be one of the most knowledgeable when it comes to mechanical switches, so as soon as these switches were announced I thought of you. In the video you said the actuation distance is 1.2mm, but I seem to remember it being 1.5mm. did they lower it to match mx speed and Razer yellow? Couple additional questions, how does it feel compared to razer yellows? And how responsive does it feel compared to the other fast actuation switches?

This is basically the G413 but with RGB, USB port on the left side instead of the right side (yay) and the wrist rest. Almost $100CAD more expensive though.

I was putting G813, G Pro, and G413 on scale, but only factors that G513 is seemingly unique is that it has the 'first' Romer-G Linear switch, great palm rest, and probably like 0.5 ms faster? If the price makes up to what G613 has, definitely worth it. But difference of 100$ really does question you. I would definitely go for this even if it's around 150$. I would rather buy corsair, deck, ducky, leopold than what G513 suggests.

Frank Bullitt yes but this is the introduction of the linear switch. Every other romer g switch has the tactile bump. Might matter to a high percentage of consumers

Can you set the brightness of each individual key? I can do this on even older RGB Corsair keyboards, and I abosultely love seeing the gaming speicifc keys at 100% brightness, then everything else at maybe 50%. If this keyboard can do that I am buying it.

you can set the colors and i guess you can set how bright by choosing how dark the color is. but not not individual brightness in terms of a percentage.

I get what you mean. To clarify, it is a color picker that does have brightness and darkness. (Which some keyboard softwares just give you a rainbow and no brightness or darkness) I purchased one of these based mostly on your review. I am pretty happy with it. Wish it was as quiet as my Cherry Silents were on my Strafe, but honestly everything else about this keyboard seems better to me. The Strafe had an issue Corsair has had with many of their keyboards: sometimes keys just typed out twice. Keyboard failure 101. Now that I'm using this, no more duplicate letters. Keys feel more stable. Space bar is actually quieter. Actuation is shorter. In short: Better.

What the fk? No NumLock indicator? Simply briliant. I've been always wondering how companies can create (otherwise) nice products but still fk up on such details. If they do, I can't tell at all. I think that it has pretty well everything to do with the so-called light pipe design. As with other previous Logitech RGB keyboards, the "white" has kind of a bluish/teal cast to it. (I prefer to set a slightly warmer custom shade)

I have G810 and my only complain about it is whites are not white. Does G513 has the same problem?

I'm pretty sure the Switches/LEDs are the same as the G810 so it's most likely going to look the same. Lost of RGB keyboards though have a pink tint to the white. I did a test a while back between a bunch of different types to see which white was the most "true" white. Razer actually had a better white than the cherry RGB switches which were more pink tinged. Kailh has pretty good white also.

This has to be one of the most confusing keyboards I've bought... I can't for the life of me understand how you simply change color from say default BLUE, to red, then change it to yellow, green. Every time I function press the light mode it does completely different light settings, like rain, explosion, rainbow -left/right...etc. There is nothing to simply change from all blue keys to all red keys, then switch to all green keys with a push of a button... It's mind boggling how convoluted this all thing is...

Tactile has a bump you can feel on the switch when it actuates (Keystroke registers) Linear switches are smooth all the way down until you bottom it out so you wont feel the actuation point.
