the reason for the weird design on the wasd keys is for indexing your hand for gaming on a gaming keyboard. sometimes when playing a game, you will reach for a g-key or something that takes your fingers from their positions, and having something differentiating the used keys helps to quickly index again. on the g710, the entire keycap was a different colour. the reason they dont include mapping to other keys is because it is stupid. i cant imagine the nightmare trying to use shortcut commands after changing the layout of a keyboard, or trying to use it when the keys are mapped weird. imagine removing all your keycaps and putting them into random spots... thats what you would do to your keyboard. and imagine your computer restarts and you cant input your password because your keyboard is giving different results for a click. besides, games already allow you to customize your keys... completely removing any reason to remap the keyboard. also.. you say this keyboard is overly gamey... but it seriously is very restrained. flat black with 9 g-keys. you know... like a GAMING KEYBOARD is supposed to be. all in all... this review was not helpful at all.

For people looking at getting this kkeyboard. I woulld say lookk elsewhere. It has an issue with repeat key presses and cleaning doesn't fix it, nor does turning down the repeat. I currenty own the kkeyboard after a few years of use and it's doing this issue. From what I have seen it's because of the redundancy system they use in their proprietary switches

Nice review. Was about to get this keyboard a few months ago but I got it’s replacement the g915. I like the fact they took what the g910 is and improved on it and made it wireless. Expensive though lol.

g915 is not the replacement for this lmao, it's meant to be a totally different keyboard, you would say that about any new keyboard they made. That thing is awful I'm waiting for their next real keyboard that is not low profile

If I program the macro keys, does the software need to be running in order for those keys to work, or can I just use the software for the programming then close the software. Also, what other keyboards do you recommend that are like this which have macro keys that I can program. I should add: I don't want Corsair. I have a Corsair K95 RGB now and I love it, but the software (iCUE) is horrible and keeps crashing my systems when I play games. So, I need to go to another brand of keyboard because of the software. I have a Logitech G13 now and run the LGS with no issues so maybe Logitech is just the best fit for me. I saw the newer Logitech models but they don't have extra keys either.

King of the Fall. I ordered this one and it's about to arrive tmrw but I started looking into the g513 right after I ordered it. The g513 is newer and has better build quality and has that squishy wrist wrest. Pretty sure it's got a usb passthrough which this one lacks. It looks less gamingy than this though and has no macros. I ordered this because I need the macros.

The G513 looks cool but to me no macros and higher price point? Hard pass. Heck I love the G910, I've bought my 3rd one 3 months ago, I don't want any other. I took one at work and the macros are such a game changer. I can bypass many poorly planned shortcuts in apps by using one single button instead of the same constant weird sequence, I can input passwords, keep a list of files I copy paste very often to have them ready to paste at any time (again single button, I don't even have to open a file, switch between windows: the text is already there, ready to be copied). It's just awesome. And in gaming just being able to toggle "Forward" or "Run" or "Run while crouching": just such an improvement of life! No more hurting fingers after pressing the same key for 5 hours. I've always hated the modern keyboard fad: NOISY mechanical switches, complete loss of functionalities (did you know Microsoft would ship keyboards with a fingerprint reader for windows XP at least 18 years ago? Wow how backwards have we went), ect. To me the G910 is oldschool in a good way: doesn't hurt fingers, doesn't kill your ears with constant clicks, actually brings functionality on the table (macros, completely customizable lights, navigation, volume wheel) and is nice and big to feel like a serious tool, not a happy meal toy. I'm seriously dreading the end of this keyboard.

@@kingofthefall.1117 I went with Corsair because no Logitech keyboards are up to 2020 standards, I will get a Logitech one again when they decide to listen to their fans and make a new flagship model. As for your dilemma I say just wait or get a Corsair

Warning: do not buy this complete garbage of a keyboard if you want something that lasts longer than two years. The Romer G switches are just one huge design flaw and will fail at about two years, just out of waranty. Logitech customer 'support' sucks and they don't take the customer serious on this matter. Well with me they have lost a life long and loyal customer. I've been buying there stuff since I was a kid but now they've lost me. How can they expect the customer to accept that a 150+ dollar keyboard fails just after two years!? Especially considering that when they released this garbage they advertised with the higher durability and reliability of the Romer G switches.. Be warned and don't buy this if you want something that lasts more than 2 years.

@@whyareuhere4465 I would say wait a bit longer and find out. Or you might be in luck and have different Romer G switches? Logitech provides zero information on this issue, while there are plenty of stories online from people that have experienced the same problem.

GHUB is shit, they removed the fucking "Surround Sound" key for the keyboard.... so now you have to press the button on the headset when you want to turn it off and on
