@@deservingcomplexionm8111 I disagree. Showing their faces makes the public aware of who's a danger to them, so they'll be able to better avoid becoming their next victim. I'm not even sure what I said about a life sentence is a good idea. Surely locking someone up who clearly has warped morales would be even more detrimental for their involvement in society? You had the very rich on high rises ordering , to run down old motels with families living in them . I'm an editor and to blur people's faces is extra work, and I rule it an courtesy alloted only to protect someone from violence or threat of safety. It should be an absolute that if you blur to protect you should also not blur to inhibit someone that's violent. Even if they just threaten. If you are in public, your acts are shared publicly. The public is free to decide to allow you more privacy or not. If you commit a crime, and you are caught on camera. You should not be able to wiggle out of that. You do not deserve to be blurred if you use your privacy to continue harming others. Blurring a violent offender enables them to go free for longer, I do not understand that the law has not drawn proper lines for media to help expose perpetrators. If someone asks me to blur them, they are commanding me to spend an extra hour or two after work making sure no frame or reflection captures their likeness. If you act threatening like that, you bet I'm not going to blur you. Come tell me who you are and I'll consider it.

IF an immigrant becomes a criminal the ENTIRE FAMILY should be deported to give a larger disincentive to get involved in crime and gangs. If this was Dubai and for any reason they had this issue, they'd get it sorted within days ...A huge advertising campaign with clear messages on Social Media that undercover police with be out on bikes pretending to be delivery drivers and if/when caught, you'll go straight to prison for 5 years and no questions asked. Probably nobody would end up in prison because the criminals will be scared and the problem will go away immediately, the same can be said about knife crime with stop and search powers.

In regards to knocking people off their bikes, I am a biker and if you crash into a bike at even 20 mph or over there is still a very real chance you can kill the rider. Thats why I believe police should only nudge a moped thief off the scooter at low speed and in a way that causes them only to slide. Theymay get hurt but a full on impact quite easily hospitalises riders

Not just mopeds, any motorcycle they can steal. As a London biker for 35 yrs, in an attempt to prevent my property being stolen I ride a 20 yr old BMW that weighs quarter of a tonne. This deters 95% of thieves. The only time an attempt was made was when I had a sports version - looked like a sports bike so they thought it was light. After popping the barrel, they couldn't even lift it off the sidestand, as evidenced by my chain and padlock were as I left them. I now ride a touring version, with a large fairing that is hopefully intimidating to would-be thieves.
