Grandmaster out of book on move two! Well I now see why there are chess videos on YT that say "you cannot memorize your way to chess excellence". However, if you are playing Blitz 3-0, there is no time to think your way through the opening. This a real problem/dilemma for me, that I am working to solve, and I welcome any ideas/solutions from anybody who has made progress with this problem. Note - I am very motivated to solve this problem/dilemma because after many years absence from chess, I just started going to a chess club (in Guatemala) where once a week they have a Blitz 3-0 tournament.

I'm glad you went over that whole d5 with Ne4 scenario with the bishop on b7. To know Grandmaster also struggles with that is a comfort. I'm never sure what to do to in that situation. I sort of have stopping them playing e4 higher up on the priority ladder, so I seek to occupy it at all costs.Seems to occur in Nc3 lines instead without c4.

A complete cheat, don't get discouraged Simon it was still very educational and entertaining as always. I'm looking forward to the new killer dutch, as I'm a chessable fan too but I wish you had everything on your website; The trainer on chessable is not that useful as we rarely play the exact lines. I play the Black Lion against d4 with decent results I guess because it's so uncommon, but it feels very bland compared to against e4. I'm looking forward to your new Killer Dutch course on Chessable and switch my d4 Black games to the Dutch. I bet that if you would ask for a non-exclusivity agreement they would give it to you and allow to publish the course also on your site. Many platforms like Udemy or Amazon don't ask for content exclusivity, which is a real pain for content producers.

I actually talked to this guy today privately and he did assure me he wasn't cheating and he was worried about his account being banned and what people would think about him and he had made an appeal as well to get unbanned. Well, of course I can't really know for sure, but he did seem quite sincere. Maybe, just maybe this time your opponent wasn't cheating, but who knows. 2100-2200 are afterall pretty strong players, even if they aren't IM's or GM's and can play really good games. Still there are unfortunately too many people out there who do cheat and it's a real pity. Fortunately many of them do get caught.

it is sad for this decent player to play the game of his life on chess.com. If he is able to make 97,5% in a "real" tournament, he would be very good and probably much better than 2200 (which is a decent rating, let's admit that). The problem is that everything is anonymous on internet (apart from Simon Williams and some other guys) and that a very good performance can always be suspected. 97,5% is very suspicious.

@HighlyCruciferous5 жыл бұрын
@laurent balagué You shouldn't obsess over those percentages. It's just a gimmick that chess.com decided to feature. First of all, it does not accurately determine the accuracy level that each player displayed (how ironic), because the engine is not given the time to proprely analyse the game. And secondly, it depends greatly on the nature of the positions. If it's not a complicated tactical game, then a decent player can get a high percentage if he is familiar with the positional themes. I am rated under 2100 Fide and I've obtained a 99% accuracy in certain blitz games. It's really not very relevant.
@laurentbalague85465 жыл бұрын

He played several suboptimal moves. For example, exchanging queens was a very human approach, but far from best according to the engine. And in general I think his play had a very logical feel to it from a human perspective. He didn't blunder, but why should he have ?
