This truck was just barely stuck in the snow due to the weight of the piggyback forklift on the back of his trailer, but unfortunately the best way to get him out was to continue down the road he was on and into a couple turns that we knew he wouldn’t make. So after giving him a simple tug out of the spot he was in, we burned his trailer in the snow and spent the next hour winching him through the intersections until we got back to the main road

I used to drive one of those trucks. That forklift is 6000lbs hanging off the rear of the trailer, and it takes all the weight off the drive tires. When getting into a spinout situation I would unload the forklift, drive the truck to a flatter spot, then walk back and drive the forklift up to the truck and load it back up. Also kept 4000lbs of weight on the nose of the trailer, usually a couple skids of shingles or cement blocks. Forklift was also handy to move the trailer over away from an obstacle on a tight turn, such as a tree, fire hydrant, or boulder.

You are very correct on the fact the lift on the back lifts the rear of the truck I drove one for years luckily mine had sliding axles I kept them as far back as possible but in all the years I drove one of those I’ve only gotten my truck stuck one time that I couldn’t use the lift to get it out mostly because I would park on the shoulder of the highway and use my Princeton to truck loads in I’ve carried double stack shingles up to 4 miles from my truck in the woods

Big rig and Princeton piggyback forklift/trailer owner here. Dude should have been able to lift and side shift that trailer around those snowbank corner. I've had to do that many times in order to get into and out of way worse situations than this. It does take a lot of time but it is absolutely doable. I saw a 6 foot gap at the front of the trailer. He should have had his entire load as far forward as possible to counter the forklift weight.
