It's a pretty well known fact that Richard Moll hated a good portion of the cast (especially John Larroquette), as well as his own "wacky" character on the show - but was locked into contract. His not coming back to the revival has nothing to do with the alien ending. Enough other stuff has been retconned, that would be too.

I remember watching the finale when it first aired. What was most jarring is that Bull departing for Jupiter was the *very* last moment of that finale episode--and it ended in Harry's (old) office, dark, with no laugh track or audience noise. It was a decidedly eerie way to end the series, let alone the episode!

I loved watching this show with my Dad. I absolutely adored the entire cast of characters and their chemistry with one another. My favorite character was Roz. She was the conscience of the show. She could go from hard nosed to heartwarming in a heartbeat. I just loved that about her character. I can't help but feel like I got a little glimpse in to the real Marsha Warfield. I've always wanted to give her a great big hug!

I used to love watching it with my dad too, we would have to turn the antenna with a pipe wrench to get NBC just to watch NIGHT COURT!!! I'm 43 now, was about 8 or 10 then, and just watching this made me want to call my dad. It was the one show we both agreed what's good besides the A-Team.. and Fall Guy! I don't know anyone that even remembers the Fall Guy TV show. And now today's generation has went off the deep end and you probably couldn't pay them to sit through an episode of the old school night court that I fell in love with. Or I might have fell in love with spending the time with my dad but NIGHT COURT made that happen.💯🙋‍♂️ I kind of feel like we're coming from the same place. My favorite character was always Harry because I loved his magic tricks, I really liked bull to just because he was an oddball. Edit: my mom loved the show and would set it up but then she would leave me in my dad to watch it and cook dinner and right now I can almost smell her cooking tacos. She just wanted my dad to have something to do with me and certain TV shows were really about all we had in common back then. My how the time has flown by so fast. Rest in peace mom. ❤️

I found it a brilliant way to bring back Dan and give him a fresh take being a public Defender. Some of the “old” Dan may not fly today but that decision made his character familiar yet fresh. And Gurgs is a breakout character that they needed to show the New Night Court has some legs of it’s own to stand on.

@@DaddyOfTheSugarVariety They tried to work Harry's jokes in with the prop of the snakes and all that. Those are could tribute to the late actor who played Judge Stone. Now, there is a backlash against ruining the characters and shows in the past. They at least trying to sneak stuff into the show like Abby offered Dan some cupcakes that have a design of women's breat on them for decorations. But, at least they are trying to bring the idea from the 80s back. All they need to do is let the scripts to be like it was, and a lot less commercials. Every jokes seemed to be rushed in a shorter time period.

Melissa tries her best to emulate the old show with Harry Anderson, and the writers are trying to recreate the magic, it just falls shoft. Before playing Christine on this original series, Markie had a guest star appearance on “The Love Boat” as a woman named Dee Dee who also wears a disguise and goes under a different name with a high-pitched voice and has a dilemma while trying to find someone to become her romantic lover on the cruise during all of “Dee Dee’s Dilemma”. I have seen her in that episode on Paramount+!

Season 9 was a surprise renewal so they walked back story lines. Made the season hard to watch. Reboot: The Abby character seems to be too young. They need to better explain that.

It's Wendell Pierce. Who he was in a play with. As noted by the voice over. 😉

I loved "Night Court." I had a crush on Markie Post. I have always wondered if Night Court could have made 20 years like "All in the Family."

NGL, I outright miss Harry Anderson. We need more genuine characters like him these days....

It flew well in the 80s-90s with great jokes which are sadly today considered Faux pas and woke The new night court is bland and flavorless and looks like a tragedy you put on screen with wooden acting and forced comedy for 30 mins

When I met the man who I've now been married to for 36yrs, I didn't much like him. I told him he was another Dan Fielding. We laugh now.
