The way her husband expressed how they should be together can cause misunderstanding because no couple want to "stay together unhappily" He should have put it like that we can share both happiness and unhappiness or sorrow, travelling through life together, which is the main meaning of a marriage for love. A marriage can be long- lasting through all ups and downs of life only when it comes from true love The reason why they should stay together is not that they are both unprepared to have children, but it's what has brought them together

No i think he said what he said and meant what he meant. Staying with your wife unhappily and seeing your kids every day vs being single and seeing your kids much much less. He thinks the latter would be worse, so is going to stay with her, happy or not.

What are you saying, they should stay for kids. Unless there’s violence involved children who grow under two parent family success more in life and not just financial success but mental stability as well. Divorce is one of the worst mental health destroyer of kids. No stability, chaotic and usually contentious life will lead to a lifetime of misery. There are lots of researches conducted on this.
